Description of 1957 Ford Fairlane 500

Yes I found this for sale in the Ozark mountains. The nice older man told me he was the 2nd owner, e had it stored for over 20 years. He said"it will need brake work, ut I always started it and let it run once or twice a month". He started it, actually had to take a second look to see if it was running, couldn't hear it running it was so quiet. It recently developed an leak around one of the manifold gaskets. Manifolds do not look broken, y mechanic looked, e said gaskets just need replaced. Now since I bought the car, t came with several parts, ew carpet, hich is installed, ew wiper blades installed, ew material for head liner, eeds installed, ew custom floor mats as you can see in pictures. Windshield needs replaced, s I was replacing a screw, nd it hit the glass cracking it as you see. There is a minor oil leak coming from the back upper side, have not had time to locate yet. Transmission does not leak. Fluids are full and clean. I did change the engine oil toValvoline synthetic 10w 30. Tires new 2 years ago, have put around 13,000 miles on the car since buying it 2 years ago, hen I put new tires on it. At that time I installed new lifetime shocks, ew brakes, ll new wheel cylinders and Lines. All Drums were turned at that time. My mechanic did check rear diff fluid, t was good he said. I do trust him, e is a local older lifetime mechanic, lso local drag racer, e knows what he is doing. He also has given his "2 cents" on this car, e said " this car is in very good shape for being all original as it is". Now the million dollar question. how much rust ? There are only the areas where the original paint has cracked, s you see in the photos, have kept the car waxed, ven on the rust spots, o slow the damage. Roof was spot primmer prior to me buying. So Yes the floor pans and trunk pans are VERY SOLID. When I installed carpet, seen very little rust. But the floor is solid like trunk. To my knowledge there is NO paint every sprayed to hide any thing. it is as you see. From what everyone has told me, ven the interior looks original. I have no fear of driving this car to Wichita KS, nd back, hat is a 110 mile round trip, have done that several times, o go hang out at car events. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions. I have also uploaded a video of the car to YouTube, ou may hear it run, o into gear forwards and backwards. Happy bidding, lease call me any questions at 620-660-0958 Mike
