Description of 1966 Ford Mustang GT 289 A Code

For your consideration is my 1966 Mustang Convertible. I have been the proud conservator of this fine vehicle for the past 14 years. As such there is probably no question that I could not answer for you. I would consider this car as a number 1 driver class classic. It is not a 100 point concours show car. It is a very well shorted out classic that can be started and driven to any event near or far and have confidence regardless of it's 49 years of age. Odometer reads 102,175 miles. This car also comes with original air cleaner, alve covers, nd air tube (which is packed away). Many trophies and plaques were won for this car and are included. If buyer wants these trophies/plaques/awards, heywill be shipped separately at buyer's expense. This includes a 3 inch binder with all documentation, eceipts, tc. of all items purchased and all work done on this vehicle (includes documentation from previous owners).

The steed is a true A code and still has its original drivetrain. The engine has had a full rebuild by Roger's Speed Shop in Garwood NJ. It is a standard A code rebuild but sports a mild camshaft, owever it still exhibits a smooth idle while providing a lovely rumble from the exhaust and peppy performance. The C4 automatic has also had a standard overhaul and shifts without fault. The differential is a standard 3:00/1 ratio open differential, t was also disassembled and freshened with new seals and bearings. The drivetrain has no more than 3000 miles since being finished. It exhibits no knocks or strange noises, o smoke and no excessive leaks. The engine was professionally spray painted with POR 15 Ford dark blue and in really impresses. In the past year the entire engine compartment was freshened with a new coat of semi gloss black. The engine runs cool and is very dependable.

The interior has been replaced several years back. It was a standard interior but now sports a custom red/white Pony interior, very striking combination. The white top is only a few years old and it fits like a glove and is in excellent shape. It is a power top and works without complaint. All gauges and instruments work as designed. The audio is a AM/FM modern unit with a 10 CD changer in the trunk. The radio also has a port for an Ipod etc. Everything in the interior from the seat covers to the carpet is clean and sharp.

The car rolls on BFG Goodrich Red Line Radial tires, hese tires still have 90 percent tread and ride smooth. New shocks all around and no work needed to the suspension. Car has been aligned and drives straight as an arrow. The brakes are factory disc and drum and they stop true. No work needed. The rims are reproduction styled steel wheels and the chrome is excellent. Overall the chrome and stainless trim is very good to excellent all around, lass is clear with no issues. The car itself was painted in 2005, nd I challenge you to find a better show winning finish than what is on this car. It was originally a a Candy Apple Red car. The trunk is also clean and sharp. This car was undercoated from day 2, eaning the original owner had the dealer undercoat the car when purchased, s it was never a rotissiere nut and bolt type restoration it still is undercoated throughout underneath. While not the most attractive in terms of a show car it has successfully protected the original floor pans throughout as none have ever been replaced. To the best of my knowledge all the sheet metal on this car,is what it rolled down the assembly line with. Not many 1st generation Mustangs can claim original floors and sheet metal. Car still has its original door tag and body buck tag.

I literally have a room full of Trophies and Plaques as this car never fails to place, t has lived a charmed life under my care, lways covered when not used and pampered when used. Besides an occasional wash it has seen inclement weather. I am a meticulous person and the attention to the cars detail and presentation has always been paramount to me. I welcome any serious buyers to reach out to me at 908-296-8020 my name is Tony. We can discuss any particular concerns you may have. Of course I have more photo's or can take a particular shot for you if desired. As with any investment I suggest and encourage you invest in a professional to inspect the car, will do my best to accommodate and will also help with any shipping arrangements you may make. Foreign collectors and dealers are welcome to bid on this gem.
