Description of 1940 Ford Other

***** I do have the window glass frames and mechanisms to raise the windows. I have pics of them if you ask me for them. I also have pics of the convertible top up and of the bows. Other than the top being torn, he frame for the top looks and functions fine from what I can tell. Just ask for the link to pictures.****
Up for sale is a 1940 Ford Convertible deluxe in original condition. This has been in my family since the mid 50's. My dad painted it and recovered the interior in about the 1959 timeframe. It last ran about 1965 and otherwise has been sitting in one of our barns. IT seems to be pretty much untouched other than what dad did in the 50's. But it will need a total restoration. I do not know if the engine will turn over or not. I know it was unstuck 15 years ago. But have since lost the tool to turn it over. It does include a spare 85hp flat head motor that does turn over and I heard this motor run before.
The body is pretty solid. There are some spots of rust and a few small holes here and there, ut none that are major. The only real flaws I see, he lower hinge on the driver's door is rusted off and missing. And the trunk lid dad said he fixed in the 50's because someone broke into it and cut it up around the latch. And since it's been sitting in a barn it's had mice in it. So you might get a hitch hiker when you take it home.
I do have a ton of extra parts for it, ncluding the spare complete engine that will go with it. I do also have the long piece of chrome missing on the rear quarter panel of the car, nd one of the small pieces between the fender and the door. The other small piece that is about a couple inches long I am missing I think.
I do not know a ton about these. I've been researching the prices and found one very similar to this that sold at auction in 2011 for $31,000 and I've seen basket cases on ebay here sell for the $15,000 range. So I'm listing this for $25,000. The initial deposit of $500 is required and the remainder paid when you pick up the car. I would like to have it picked up within 2 weeks of the winning bid. The remaining balance to be paid in cash. I do not want to take a check for this much money. So I do ask it to be cash and $100 bills and this is the only form of payment accepted.
I do have a link to about 70 pictures but ebay won't let me put the link in here, o message me and I will figure out how to get you the link.
If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them. And if you do want to come out and see the car, ou are more than welcome too. But the first person who clicks buy it now gets it.
