HISTORY
Some people are lucky enough to find gold in their own back yard. Or ... why not next door?Recently, y neighbor told me that he had decided to sell his beloved 1948 Ford, nd asked if I would like to come over and have a closer look. He explained that soon his wife would be having surgery and also, ecause of his own health concerns, e needed to sell the car. I love that hot rod! However, t the end of the day, ecause I already have too many toys, explained to my neighbor that I would be willing to find a new owner for the Ford, nd who knows? That new owner just might be you, ecause GOLD IS WHERE YOU FIND IT!

COSMETICS
The paint is approximately 15 years old and, s such, as its share of checking, ome oxidation, nd other imperfections. The advantage of older paint is that nothing can be hidden. I have been able to find no signs of cancerous rust in the paint, r underneath the car. There is a narrow line of rust, rom left to right, nside the trunk, earest to the back end of the car. This does not appear to be extensive, nd should be an easy fix.
All chrome, lass, nd lenses are in good to excellent condition. The windshield looks excellent, ith no cracks, itting, r rock chips. Some rubber could be replaced to be up to the standards of the rest of the exterior. The tires are in very good condition, ith excellent tread. I can find no age cracking between the treads, r on the sidewalls. The rear tires are 255 60R15, nd the front 225 60R15.THE INTERIOR, n my opinion, ooks as good in person as it does in the photographs. All carpets, inyl front and rear seats, oor panels, hrome gearshifter, ontrol knobs, nterior door openers, indow winders, hrome dash, auges, ecarra leather steering wheel, ront seat belts and more are in good to excellent condition. The headliner is particularly nice. There are no rear seat belts. Latches should be located for the passenger and driver wind wings.MECHANICS
But the best is yet to come! The Ford 5.0 HO engine starts right up, uns cool and strong, as EXCELLENT OIL PRESSURE, nd does everything these favored power plants have done so well for hot rod enthusiasts over the years. The newly rebuilt transmission shifts smoothly in all gears, nd is happiest going into drive or reverse from park when the engine is warm (a cold engine could stall). Good brakes. Excellent exhaust system.
WHAT WORKS? Among other things, he AC, eater, orn, il pressure, oltage, nd temperature gauges (I'm not sure about the gas gauge), achometer, ight and left exterior turn signal lights (front and back), icense plate light, eadlights, ncluding high and low beams, unning lights, indshield wipers, nside door handles, nd hidden exterior driver door release, ocated just under the car, ear the driver door lower rear corner. There is no exterior passenger door release, ut it will open from inside the car. Also working are the interior hood and trunk pull releases (located near the left side of the steering column), nd more. Currently, he speedometer and clock do not work, nd there is no emergency brake.
The above is based on my personal observation, nd is not a professional inspection or warranty. You can expect that some things may not work up to your own, r your mechanics standards, nd that work will most likely be found, hat you or your mechanic would like to do.
