1979 Ford Fairmont Cobra III, otally restored car inside and out, echanically and cosmetically. Ford never really made a"Cobra III", his is my interpretation of what could have been. It has a fuel injected 5.0 V8 engine with Cobra GT40 heads and GT40 upper and lower intake manifold. A Trick Flow stage 1 cam was added for that rumbly idle. A larger explorer throttle body, obra valve covers, new plugs and wires, ustang distributor, eaders and mac exhaust, luminum radiator with electric fan and fan controller, new heater core, SD blaster coil.. fuel injected with 24 pound injectors, ngine harness from a fox body mustang. New mass air flow sensor, new hoses, new belt, ll new gaskets, ustom tuned by Carolina Chassis Dyno with a custom chip in the A9L computer. It has stainless steel braided hose and AN fittings front to back. It has a new 255 liter per hour fuel pump and performance filters. Fuel cell 15 gallons from Summit. I got over 17 miles per gallon on the way to Pigeon Forge and back. I would drive this car anywhere, t is very dependable. Get in, urn the key and enjoy. Runs on regular gas with no problem. Transmission is an automatic C4 built by Cooks Racing Transmissions.. heavy duty with stainless steel hoses leading to a tranny cooler and a Lokar dipsick and tube. B&m bandit shifter. Aluminum driveshaft with new U joints. Rear axle is a fox body Mustang 8.8 completely rebuilt (3.73 gear) and converted to 5 lug with Ranger axles, new seals, earings, tc...

A lot of attentionwasdirected to the suspension of this car.First off, he car was minitubbed using Wolfcraft mini tubs. Coil-over shocks that are adjustable and custom mounted inward to allow for the wide rear tires. Has adjustable upper and lower tubular arms with aluminum bushings. Has custom fabricated anti roll kit for drag racing (unhooked currently for street driving) installed by JP Performance Automotive. The car has been minitubbed and has 335 - 35 - 17 tires with 12" wide wheels in the back which were custom widened by weld craft wheels in Michigan. The tires are still like brand new front and back. The wheels are anniversary 5 lug mustang style wheels from SVE 17 x 12 in the back 17 x 9 in the front. The front suspension consists of a tubular k member and A-arms from UPR along with UPR caster camber plates and a UPR anti bump steer kit. Subframe connectors were welded in at JP Automotive. He also welded the torque boxes for even more body strength. It has been upgraded to a Mustang GT front sway bar. the brakes are upgraded to Mustang rear drums and 1995 Mustang front spindles and disc brakes. The body has had many modifications and paint and body work has incredible workmanship, ery straight and very glossy. Lots of hours. Zero rust. Car is white with anthicite colored stripes on the side, ood, nd back of trunklid. Trim holes were fully welded and the gas door was shaved. The hood has a steel cowl welded in and the rear spoiler is a custom fabricating job fully welded. The front and back bumper have been tucked and there is a volvo front spoiler installed which looks great. The stripes are painted and are underneath the clear coat. Couple of little paint chip places had to be touched up on the white part.

Interior wise everything has been redone - brand new carpet and floor mats. Brand new dash pad. Brand new stereo and speakers. Brand new bucket seats from Fox Body Mustang. New Rear seat is from a Foxbody Mustang convertible and fits even with the wheel mini tubs. Complete with seatbelts matching. It has a Foxbody center console and a custom grant steering wheel. Tach and gauge package with pods on the passenger side pointing toward the driver on that panel. New headliner, new Sun visors, new rear shelf. New door panels, eadlights and turn signal lenses. Rear turn signal and brake light harness is updated from a mustang. Even inside the trunk looks great with a full carpet job. This car has had a lot of workmanship and time and effort put into it, o expense was spared. It really must be seen in person to appreciate the level of detail given to it.

The only real problem with the car is when you downshift you can hear the tailpipe hitting the rear control arm. I MAY get that looked at before the auctions end. My exhaust guy may be able to adjust the tailpipe for better clearance. I may even remove the tail pipe and just have the exhaust dump at the axle. Just FYI.
