This car is a salute to Art Chrisman a man that has lead a life that most of us have only dreamed of.
This car was built to honour pioneers. The pioneers in our motor sport history that helped make it into what it is today.
Legends like Jack Lehman, eroy Neùmayer, oug Caruthers and of course Art Chrisman all helped to place Ol no25 into the record and history books. The original car is on display at the NHRA museum at Pamona CA.
Coming fron a Speedway Hot Rodding background I have always admired this car.
In 1998 the staff at the NHRA museum graciously let me behind the barrier and allowed me to photograph the finer details of its construction. In 2004 I met the legend himself and he was able to fill in all the gaps
After the completion of the replica we took it to Bonneville and broke the XF VOT record 3 times in that week with a top speed of 137 mph.
It was such an amazing experience to follow in the footsteps of men I admire and only ever read about in books. It was topped of by a personal visit by Art himself. I will die a happier man.
However I am now a Bonneville addict and have started construction on a Lakester to attempt 300mph. Unfortunately the costs are immense, o this beautiful hand crafted tribute to Art Chrisman and OL no 25 will have to move on.
