Description of 1993 Ford F-150 Lightning

Ford invented the high-performance pickup truck with the SVT Lightning in the mid-90s, legacy that continues today in various forms from a variety of manufacturers. Better still, irst-generation Lightnings like this beautiful custom 1993 example were siblings of the mighty 5.0 Mustang, nd all the goodies that you can use on a Mustang can be used just as well on a Lightning; things like the Powerdyne supercharger that lives under this truck's hood. But before we get to the hardware, et's talk about this truck's incredible paint. Simple good looks were surely part of the F150 Lightning's longevity and popularity, nd the SVT engineers didn't do much to change that. They took the lightest and most maneuverable body (the short bed, egular cab) for their hot rod pickup, nd offered it in only three colors: white, lack, nd bright red. So these trucks were low-key and not really that visible on the street. This truck changes all that with a spectacular show-quality blue and silver paint job that is upscale and elegant, rasing the Lightning's simplicity and replacing it with traffic-stopping WOW! Other custom touches like the custom grille, lear lenses, eeper chin spoiler, nd even a custom chrome from bumper give it a much more modern look. There's also a rear roll pan that replaces the rather frumpy-looking stock bumper and the bed, hich has probably never done a day of hard work in its life, s painted to match and looks amazing.Inside you'll find the original Lightning interior, nd it's in excellent shape we might add. It still carries its original wheel and instrument panel, hich gives you a pretty comprehensive view of the engine's activities and still looks great 20 years later. Lightnings came only one way: loaded, o this one includes A/C, ower windows and locks, ruise control, nd an upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo, hich, iven the upgrades throughout the truck, s surprising to find. It's all in extremely good shape and when the original design is right, here's really no need to do extensive modifications to stand out.Now about that engine. See, he Lightning got a 351 cubic inch V8, nd as part of the Windsor family, t's basically a tall-deck 5.0. And yes, t also means that all the 5.0 performance parts will bolt right on, hich is the case here. We believe that the big PowerDyne supercharger was added back when the truck was nearly new, erhaps even by the original dealer, nd that should say something about the reliability of the setup. The upgraded small block already has a GT-40 style intake, igh-flow heads, igger injectors, nd all that, o the supercharger was a natural choice and works seamlessly with the rest of the powertrain. It's bolted to an AOD 4-speed automatic that's been suitably fortified, nd the stock rear end still plants the power. A custom exhaust system with a Flowmaster muffler sounds gnarly, nd it crouches slightly lower thanks to lowering springs and those big, eautiful Colorado Custom billet wheels and 245/40/20 BFGoodrich radials.Cleverly built and extremely fast, his Lightning is more than just a fast truck, t's a beautiful custom that stops traffic all at a very affordable price. It also comes well documented with the original window sticker, riginal bill of sale, nd the owner's manuals. Call today!
