Description for Ford Bronco 1970

1970 Ford Bronco Sport

This truck is a blue plate California vehicle. Sold new in the bay area, nbsp;we are the third owner. We have had the truck for 16 years. It was completely rebuilt after an accident in 2006 with a new chassis and new front fenders hood and grill.

It has a 3 and a ½ inch James Duff Ultimate suspension lift with 2 70/30 James Duff auto adjust shocks at each wheel. Mickey Thompson wheels with 15 X 12.50 X 33 inch Dunlop tires. Front suspension has progressive rate coils and the rear suspension has 11 leaf soft ride springs. All the suspension bushings have been updated with urethane. It has a front disk brake conversion and a power brake set up from Wild Horses.

The transmission is a C4 Auto that has been rebuilt. The transfer case has just been rebuilt and re-sealed. The driveshafts have been appropriately modified and lengthened for the lift. The axles are stock front and rear.

The engine is a Ford Motorsports 302 with aluminum GT40 heads, nd Edelbrock intake manifold an Edelbrock performer carb, nd Borla stainless mufflers.. It is rated at 345 HP and 310 ft/lbs of torque. The engine has fewer than 5000 miles on it. It also has an aluminum radiator and trans cooler.

The Body is rust free. As mentioned the chassis has been replaced with a stove enameled, einforced stock chassis from Tom’s Bronco parts. The passenger side floor was replaced as well and the entire floor was ground to bare metal and treated with POR-15. The body was painted in 1970 paint code Ford Grabber Orange in 2008 with fender flares in white rock guard. It has a Ford Wimbledon white hardtop that does not leak. We also have a full soft top with soft top bows and roll up windows on the sides and back. It is white. There is also a black Bikini top that comes with the truck.

Both gas tanks have been replaced with new metal tanks from Wild Horses. Also replaced were the sending units, he tank switch valve, he dashboard fuel tank switch and all the plumbing.

All instruments, ights, ignals, eat, ipers etc work. We have replaced the stock front seats with Corbeau recliners and the driver’s side has adjustable lumbar support. The center console was replaced with a Tuff locker. Rear seat is a new black vinyl flip and fold installed in the stock location.

Front bumper is a James Duff Prerunner type with mounted and working KC Hilites. Rear bumper is also James Duff with swing-away racks for full size spare wheel/tire and gascan/cooler.

The truck has been in storage for the last 4 years while my son has been out of state. To recommission the Bronco, e have done the following in the last 500 miles:

New Edelbrock Performer Carb

New Distributor, ertronix ignitor, ertronix coil, nbsp;and wires

New High capacity aluminum water pump

New fuel tanks, nbsp;main and auxiliary and all new plumbing

New brake pads and rotors, ew shoes and drums, ebuilt calipers, ew wheel cylinders and new bearings

Gas struts for hood

New fan motor for heater

Transfer case rebuild with bearings, eals and gaskets as needed.

This Bronco is a great example of the iconic 4X4. It is on the button and ready to go.
