Up for auction is nice nice looking and solid 1979 Ford Mustang Pace Car.The 1979 Mustang was the first Mustang used since 1964.Only three official pace cars were created for track duty. These cars looked identical to the replicas like this car available for sale in every way except for a T-Tops. A few different engines were used in these cars and this Pace Car has the 2.3L Turbo four-cylinder using the 4-speed manual transmission. This combination provided 131hp and 142 ft-lbs of torque. The car has been sitting for a while and starts right up and very smooth. The four-cylinder has some pep to it! The transmission shift nice up and down! The odometer is showing 83,963 miles and this is original to the car. The paint or original and in decent condition for being 36 years old along with all the original decals. As you can see from the pictures that I just took that the car does not look bad at all. Around the car and the sun roof you will notice a few bubbles in the paint that have not broken through. The interior is also in good condition as you can see from the pictures. The black cloth seats are in solid condition with minor wear. The carpet looks nice as well as the door panels and dash. The head liner is drooping in a few places but not to bad. Everything in the car works except the fan blower and the A/C does not have a belt on so I have no idea if it is working or not. All in all this is a solid car and would make anyone looking for a fun car to drive while making small improvements this could be the car for you.
