Description of 1973 Ford Bronco

1973 Ford Bronco for sale. V8 302. with automatic transmission. I bought this truck nearly 2 years ago and I delivered it to my mechanic who filled in his spare time working on it. So. all work has been performed by a professional. I would consider it 90% restored. The frame and body are solid. it’s been freshly painted. and it’s nearly brand new mechanically. I have a book of receipts for everything that’s been done. that I will give to you. The odometer reads 76. 92; but it has basically had 0 miles on it since the new engine. It’s been sitting outside with a cover on it. then recently got moved to my garage. The truck was manufactured in September 1972. which makes it a 1973 model. The state of Alabama does not issue titles for vehicles this old. but I do have it registered in my name. which should allow anyone to properly transfer ownership or obtain a title. Successful bidder must pay a $500 deposit via PayPal immediately after auction end. with balance due via cash or cashier’s check. I would like the truck picked up and balance paid within 7 days of auction end. but I’ll work with anyone that needs a little longer as long as we communicate with each other. The truck is paid for; I don’t have a lien on it. My reason for selling: I just bought a house (enough said. right?). I have a 100% positive feedback on EBay. I’m looking for a serious buyer that is as honest as I am. Here’s what’s been done: New Mickey Thompson wheels (5 total). 15x8 size. New /remanufactured V8 302 long block (painted the original Ford blue color). This truck has less than 2 miles on it since the new motor was installed. New motor mounts and transmission mounts. New harmonic balancer. New dipstick and dipstick tube. New oil pump pick up tube. New Holley 4 barrel carburetor. New Edelbrock intake manifold. New Hedman Headers. New dual exhaust kit and mufflers (by Hooker Headers) New HEI distributor. spark plugs. wires. etc. 2” body lift with new body mount bushings. New thermostat and gasket. New battery and battery cables. new battery tray and hold down kit. New voltage regulator. New starter and starter solenoid. New fuel filter and fuel pump. New water pump. New alternator and belt. New radiator. radiator mounts. all new hoses and cap. New radiator overflow tank. New fan shroud. New heater hose kit. New air cleaner. New power steering pump. Complete new brakes including all 4 drums. master cylinder. shoes. all new rubber hoses and hard lines. spring kits. wheel cylinders. self adjuster kits. retracting springs. push rod bushing. etc. Complete new emergency brakes (all parts associated with emergency brakes are new). New power brake booster and bracket. New temperature. oil pressure and alternator gauges (all gauges work). New heater control valve. New gas tank kit which included the tank. sending unit pigtail. gas cap. fuel lines. etc. New skid plate. All new fluids. New brake light switch. New tracking bar and bushings. New 4 piece steering linkage kit. New lower steering shaft (required to accommodate 2” body lift). Paint and body work: new transmission tunnel cover. new tail light corner panels and new lower rear quarter panels. All other body components were solid and only required light refurbishing but these items were in need of replacing. The underside of the hood is not perfect. but the outside looks good. The frame is solid. The only rust that remains is surface rust. no rot. New flat black paint (inside and out). I would not consider the paint show quality. but it's not far off. and the flat black looks awesome. New fender flares. New front and rear bumpers with newly fabricated mounting brackets welded to frame ends. New windshield glass and gasket and new windshield knobs. New roll bar/cage. I searched hard for the best looking roll cage. New silver accent paint for roll cage and “FORD” letters on tailgate. I also had the raised section of the hood outlined in the silver accent paint (I got the idea from a similar design from some of the original Bronco color schemes). I still have that paint you can have if you want to paint some more accent areas. I thought about painting the fender flares silver. Reupholstered original front and rear seats (black with silver accent to match accent paint color). Seats were bolted back down with stainless steel bolts as was the roll cage. I’ve had a lot of compliments on the seats…. they look awesome; classic clean look. but you won’t find another one like it. New stainless steel door panels that I had custom covered in upholstery to match the seats. New clips and screws for the door panels. New seat backs. New window tracks (the rear tracks for the left and right windows). New dash pad. New door arm rests and door handle cups (I’ve not actually installed the door arm rests but I’ll give them to you). New lower door seals and clips. New wiper motor lowering bracket (to accommodate future soft top/bikini top). New custom fit cover that was used for 5 months (I’ll place in the back of the truck when you pick up). New antenna. Here’s what’s not been done: I elected not to restore the hard top. I still have it and if my reserve price is met you can have it. but it is currently located in Opelika. AL. and you'd have to make arrangements to pick it up. The transmission is due to be rebuilt. It has the original C4 automatic. It will go into gear and it can be driven. but it leaks and really just needs to be rebuilt. It has 4 OEM sized tires on it (decent tread but mismatched brands). Since it has a 2” body lift. it could use some new 31” or 33” tires to make the truck look really good. The original door handles. latches and locks were re-installed after the body work was done. They are functional and look ok. but the doors and tailgate have to be shut pretty hard to latch……as expected of an old vehicle. but you may want to replace some of the latches. just for ease of opening and closing the doors. It’s not absolutely necessary though. As you can see from the original photos. it has the full doors and glass. However. all the seals/weather-stripping around the door windows could stand to be replaced. However. the door seals (lower portion) and windshield gasket are new. Again. not something that’s absolutely necessary. All of the original exterior light lenses and bezels have been reinstalled but I did not hook them back up or chase down the correct screws. The wiring and pigtails are in place. but I intended to buy all new light lenses and bezels so all I did was temporarily put the originals back and didn’t bother actually connecting them. This is no big deal. just letting you know they are just temporarily in place and could use some new screws if you keep them. The motor cranks up and sounds great (after all it’s new). but it’s not really been driven since the restoration. So. some VERY MINOR adjustments may need to be made. It needs wipers. It needs seat belts. I have the rear view mirror. it’s just not installed. I have the original visors. they’re just not installed. and they need to be restained so that they look good with the new interior…. or you could just leave them off. The original radio (I’m assuming the original) is still in place. just not secured. I’d be surprised if it works. The good news is that nobody has cut the dash so you can do with it what you want. Everything has been done the correct way…. no cutting corners. Good luck bidding!
