As you can see in the pictures and video this is a BEAUTIFUL example of the styling of the FIRST NEW Post-War Ford's !! 1946 marked a pivotal year in the transition of the Ford Motor Company. from vital military manufacturing back to civilian vehicle manufacturing. With the American car market in decline. as well as Henry Ford's health. Ford Motor Company threw everything they had at the new models in 1946 in an attempt to revive the car market. and boy did they succeed !! We have been asked to sell this vehicle by a long-time close family friend who is 73 and has been a collector for most of his adult life and has decided to down-size his collection. LUCKY YOU !! He is the fourth owner of the car and has owned the car for the last 15 years and it has ALWAYS been covered and garaged since NEW. The car was bought brand new in Michigan in 1946 by a gentleman who was in the navy. The second owner found the car in a garage in Michigan and it was all original including original tires. The third owner who was a Ford collector bought the car in 1994 and it was still all original. The current or fourth owner. who had always admired the car. bought the car 15 years ago from his friend who was the third owner and had owned the car since 1994. The current owner bought the car in 2000 and at that time the car had 6. 44 ACTUAL - ORIGINAL MILES !! Careful to not let this '46 Ford Coupe get away you will never find another one like it ! The motor also retains it's ORIGINAL intake manifold. ORIGINAL exhaust manifolds. ORIGINAL oil bath air cleaner housing. ORIGINAL style 6 volt generator. ORIGINAL style 6 volt Ford scripted battery and it's ORIGINAL Holley 2 barrel carburetor. Sounds GREAT too with the factory style exhaust system. The engine is backed by the ORIGINAL - SMOOTH - 3 speed column shift manual transmission which also functions very well.
