Description of 1979 Ford Other Pickups

I am reluctantly selling my F-600 Crewcab due to changing life circumstances, nd that I don't use it enough anymore. High-desert truck, ust free, oor paint, nd a few dents, ut very solid. factory padded dash and AM radio, 70 4 barrel runs great, have a spare 460 with a desirable 1971 block that I was going to make a truck 429 with the forged 370 crank, ut it runs so good I never did it. 1968 Lincoln intake manifold and Edelbrock carburetor installed. factory power steering and shock absorbers. I have a set of four red door panels, nd two under-dash A/C units that also go with the truck. 10R22.5 tires have full tread, nd the brakes and clutch were replaced a few thousand miles ago. the paint is poor, he fuel gauges no longer work due to oxygenated fuel, ike many old cars, ual 40 gallon step tanks, nd a spare 60 gallon tank as well. there is a rattle in the steering column but I have been too lazy to fix it. it should be a simple fix, ounds like the inner felts went away and the inner collar is rattling in the shaft housing. I installed newer seats, nd the transmission tunnel from a pickup so a pickup carpet kit could be installed, ut the original floor is still underneath. I replaced window felts and rubbers, nd factory green tinted glass to replace the original clear, LT locking vent windows. new windshield. Clark 5-sp trans is a little noisy in lower gears, ut silent in 5th but works great. rockwell rear axle, do not rememebr the gear ratio, ut with the 10R22.5 tires it cruises at 70 no problem. speedometer does not work, nknown actual miles. I purchased this truck in Reno 12 years ago it was originally a highway truck from the high desert side of Oregon, nd was originally school bus yellow. it was an asphalt dump truck, nd the tar had covered everything, ut kept it rust free. we moved from California to Missouri 10 years ago, t moved all our stuff in one trip, nd got better than 5mpg for the trip, ith truck and trailer right at 60,000 lbs, s soon as I got here we replaced the clutch and all the brakes done by a reputable truck shop. running around empty, t gets 8-10 mpg, nd it is fun to drive, ut alas, am too busy and it only gets used for parades anymore, nd its deteriorating. I see those guys that hang on to stuff too long, nd then its junk, do not want to be that guy, nd this truck deserves much better. I would drive it cross-country tomorrow without hesitation.
