Description of 1965 Ford Galaxie 500

This vehicle was originally built in Atlanta, old by a dealership in Memphis, N, nd lived most of its life in northern Mississippi. After being found in a barn several years ago, t was relocated to Birmingham, L. This is a life-long southern car, nd other than a few body blemished, as never been wrecked. Almost no rust.It is still in its original turquoise paint, ith really nice patina. The wheels are not original, ut are steel, 5-inch (most likely from a Ranger pickup, tc). Tires are decent.

It has the original 352FE big block engine, hich has been completely and professionally rebuilt. Block was bored 0.030 over, ith new pistons, ith new mild (RV) cam. Ignition system retrofitted with high-performance, ne-wire HEI-style distributor, rom David Unified Distributors (DUI), nd MSD 8mm ignition cables. All new engine accessories, ncluding starter, lternator, uel pump, ater pump, ower steering pump, nd all new hoses. New radiator, nd retrofitted with transmission oil cooler.

New Edelbrock intake manifold, nd Holley Street Avenger (670cfm) carburetor, ith electric choke. New fuel tank was installed, ith new sender, nd all new fuel system plumbing.

Hooker long-tube, eramic coated headers, nd 2-inch dual exhaust, ith crossover.

Completely rebuilt original Cruisemaster transmission, ew u-joints, nd original 9-inch rear end (3.00:1 ratio), ith all new axle bearings.

Complete new suspension, ncluding all polyurethane bushings throughout (front and rear suspension). All new front end parts installed, ncluding ball joints, ie-rod ends, nd links, ing-pins, tc. New shock absorbers installed on all four corners.

Original front drum brakes were upgraded, sing power disc system from ’78-’79 T-bird. New calipers, ads and rotors were installed. Original rear drums were completely rebuilt, ith new shoes, rums, nd hardware. All new brake plumbing, ncluding correct upgrade power booster, aster cylinder, roportioning valve, teel lines, nd rubber hoses.

Complete new wiring harness, tilizing new fuse blocks, ncluding chassis and engine. Headlights upgraded to halogen. Complete electrical system operates like new.

Aftermarket air conditioning installed – custom system by VintageAir. This was NOT a factory air car.

Dash was completely restored, ncluding all new wiring, witches, ights and wiring. All parts painted to factory colors. Original factory radio is still in place (does not work). New, ftermarket steering wheel has been installed.Only work left to complete dash is a new dash pad. The carpet was completely replaced (with original turquoise color), ncluding new chassis noise deadener, nd insulation. Needs new front set padding and upholstery, lthough the original rear seat is in very good condition as are the door panels. Will need most weather stripping replaced. The car was wired with the intent of installing a stereo system, ncluding Alpine 4-channel power amplifier (located under the front seat). Stereo and speakers have not been installed.

Original bumper was removed during the work, nd will be included (needs to be rechromed). Original rear bumper is in place, nd all original interior and exterior trim is installed, nd/or is included. I still have the original spare tire and wheel.

All available original parts that were removed during the restoration will be included with the car.
