Description of 1970 Ford Torino GT

You are looking at a VERY RAREORIGINALFactory M-code 351 Cleveland 4 Barrel 1970 Ford Torino GToptioned with an Automatic Transmission, ower Steering, ower Disc Brakes,Ram Air Shaker Hood, and Laser Stripes!! This carwhile needinga full restorationisa ROCK SOLIDSouthern Carand is an extremelyworthy candidate with it'sdesirable option list andit's Ram Air Inducted 351C-4V engine!!

This is an ORIGINAL M-code 1970 Ford Torino GTthatspent it's early life in the hills of East Tennessee hailing from the City of Athens, ennesseeoriginally. This car found it's way north at some point but was garage kept and was tucked safely away sparing itfrom the elements; which is what has kept this car as solid as it is.This car was clearly a driver for a number of years before beingput away and a restoration started on it.Well the restoration got sidetracked for reasons unknown and the Torino GT ended up being parkedas a future project and forgotten about while waiting forthe nextTorinoenthusiast to come along and restore this car to its former glory!!

This car was aStock Order at McMinn County Motors in Athens, N and ordered in theAtlanta 21 DSO inthe S-code Medium Gold Metallic Hue witha Gold Laser Stripe and a matching Medium Ginger Vinyl Bench Seat Interior.

This GT was furtherspec'd outwith theoptional M-code 351C-4V 300hpEngine with Ram Air,FMX Automatic Transmission, nd a 9 inch 3.00 geared conventional rear end!

This '70TorinoGT waswell equipped and per the Deluxe Marti Report originally ordered as follows:
351C-4V 300hp V-8 Engine FMXAutomatic Transmission3.00geared 9 inch Conventional RearMediumGold Metallic Exterior PaintMedium Ginger VinylBench Seat InteriorBody Side Tape Stripe (Laser Stripe)E70-14 Wide Oval Belted White Sidewall TiresPower SteeringAMRadioDeluxe Belts/Warning Light
The M-code 351C-4V Engine has been rebuiltbya prior owner. It has had a very healthycam upgrade and now sports a Holley Carburetor sitting atop the Big Port 351 Cleveland. The car had been sitting for some time and we took great care in getting the engine going again after it's long hibernation period. After lubricating the cylinders, dding a fresh set of plugs and good 110 Octane Racing fuel the mighty Cleveland 4 Barrel roared to life!! This engineruns very good andas the good ol' boys in East Tennessee would say 'She really hits a lick'!!!
The Transmission drops into gear as it should and shifts through the gearswith no issues of note.
The bullet proof9 inchbrings up the rear andit does appear tobetheoriginal rear endto the car. I does spin BOTH rear tires indicating that a Traction-Lok has been added at some point in the cars past.
Thecar looks to have had one repaint over the original MediumGold paint and color changed to what was a very popular color of the day'ROOT BEER BROWN' which you can see on the hood and one quarter extension and then the primer you see on it now. It has had a 1/4 section replaced as it must have had some collision damage back in the day on the driver's 1/4 and it looks very good but will need some finishing in the trunk area. Car has had some filler here and there used to straighten the body back in the day that will need some additional finish work.
The Body on theTorino whilecertainly not perfectis actuallyvery solid and it'sEast Tennessee roots show in this car's condition. The Hood,Fenders, oors, and 1/4's are allvery decent on the car.The Floors, rame Rails, ockers, tc. are also ROCK solid on this car.
The car has a Hideaway Grille on it that is not listed on the Deluxe Marti Report, o I expect that it was a prior owner's upgrade to the vehicle. It is missing the egg crates on the headlight doors. I also have pretty much all of the trim and mouldings for the caras well but they are not perfect.Undoubtedly you will need someparts and pieces for this car as yourestore it, nbsp;but it is a pretty much complete car that is well optioned and asuper solid platform to start with!!There is a small rustspot underneath the car by the torque box (see pic)and someminor rust both of the trunk drops behind 1/4 panels (see pics), ut it really is nothing compared to most of what you see here in the East. The Cowl is nice on this car as are the floor pans (see pics) and while certainly not a perfect car, t is a Super Solid car to work with.
This is probably a 90-95% rust free car; the rust repair that does need to be done is minimal and strictly cosmetic. The fact that the car origins were here in the south and the fact that it has been garage kept all these years since; awaiting a long deserved restoration hashelped to preserve the bones on this car so it could live to fight another day.
TheBench Seat Interior has been changed from its original Ginger color toBlack and for the most part is all there. While it does show the years of wear and tear; most all of the pieces seem to be serviceable/restorable pieces. The car originally was a column shift car, ut has been converted to a Floor Shift at some point using an Original Floor Shift Steering Column and Floor Hump. The car has an original Rim Blow Steering wheel in it. The dash pad has a new cover on it andit will need carpet inside and seats recovered.
The carwas originally equipped with 14 inch steel wheels; it now rollson an original set of Ford 15x7 Magnum 500 Wheels; these wheels are very rare as they are correct for a BossMustang as well as a Torino.

Please be realistic in your expectations of this car as a 45+ year old project car that has been around the block and knocked around a bit needing complete restoration to include body work, echanical work, nd cosmetic reconditioning.
Overall this is a very decent original 1970TorinoGT witha Ram Air Inducted 351C-4V that is a solid restoration candidate. Thisis a running and yard driving restorationproject. There are lots of picked over, rusted out carcasses out there; but decent do-able cars such as this that are not rusted to death do not come along very often. Especially one's with an option list like this one has!! This car has a clean open title from the previous owner that is ready for transfer. If you have been looking for a Super Solid Shaker equipped Torino GT to restore then don't hesitate on this one; as is it may be some time before another suitable running resto projectsuch as this comes along again!
