Description of 1967 Ford Mustang

Up for sale is my recently finished 1967 Ford Mustang A sedan. Trans Am. nbsp;Group 2 vintage race car. This car is brand new and is legal to run in virtually any vintage organization from coast to coast. I built it to run it in CVAR (Corinthian Vintage Auto Racing) and is constructed to the 72 SCCA GCR. This car is fresh with less than 3 hours on it and has competed in two events with a log book. The car is fast and well sorted and could be much faster with an accomplished driver! It is a turn key racer and ready for you to jump in and go. If you are contemplating getting involved in vintage racing and don't have the time. or resources to build your own. this could be your car. I started with a dry. desert coupe from Arizona that has 99% of it's original sheet metal. Car was stripped to the unibody and finished in a very high dollar 3 color paint job. Topside is finished in Calypso Coral and inside. under hood area in gray. Bottom was also stripped of paint and repainted in black. Pictures should speak for themselves. Mechanical: Block is Dart 4 bolt main. . 030 over new block. with forged internals from Ross. Eagle and Crower. Engine is neutral balanced and was built by well known race shop in Houston and made 445HP on the dyno. It has a custom Cam Research mechanical cam. Heads are vintage legal factory iron that have been heavily worked over including full race port job with 49cc chambers making 10:5 to 1 CR with lightweight Ross forged flat top racing pistons. Has Crower shaft mounted rockers. Oiling system consists of a 9 quart Aviaid Bud Moore road racing oil pan and oil cooler. Headers are coated Hooker Super Comps flowing through 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust. Drivetrain: Ford close ratio toploader shifted by a Hurst Competition Plus shifter. Rear is a shortened Ford 9 inch which allows the use of the maximum allowed tire width 26. 5 inch by 8. 5 inch in the rear. It has a locker rear end with 3. 89 gears. Everything is brand new including axles. locker. ring and pinion. bearings. seals etc. In fact. everything on this car is brand new. Wheels are 15 x 8 inch Torque Thrust. Suspension: Starting at the front. it has the Shelby drop. Upper and lower control arms are boxed from Maier Racing and has roller bearing spring perches. Springs are a combination of Walt Hane and Maier. 620 front coils and 165 rears. Car is lowered approximately 2 inches. It has a Maier panhard bar and QA1 adjustable shocks. Brakes are 4 piston Kelsey Hayes in the front and 11 by 2 1/2 inch drums in the rear with Poterfield pads and shoes. It also has the big bearing spindles up front. Steering is quick ratio Flaming RIver. also brand new. I spared no expenses in the build. I have lots of receipts and documentation and will be glad to share with anything I know with potential buyers. I am sure I have left off some details as I did this quick description by memory and would be happy to discuss full details with any potential buyer. The car is beautiful and striking. The pictures really do not do it justice and gets as much as attention as any car on the grid. This is first time the car has been up for sale and as of now is not advertised anywhere else. If I don't get adequate response from qualified buyers here I will probably put it up for sale on various vintage racing sites. The car is not cheap. but it is fairly priced for a fresh. well built and competitive racer. You will be hard pressed to build one like this for this price. If you are seriously interested in the car and want to make an offer. contact me by email with your number and I will call you. Thanks for looking.
