Description of 1990 Ford Taurus |
Up for auction is a incredibly nice 1990 Taurus SHO. As some may remember, when the SHO arrived on the market in 1989, it was the fastest dour door sedan in America. These cars were very impressive for their day and you rarely see them for sale and often when you do, their a mess. I think you would be VERY HardPressed to find another car as nice or nicer than this one. I feel its one of the nicest in the country. These cars got trashed and thrown away! There were not that many SHO's to start off with in the Gen 1 years. This car was purchased by a noted car collector in Colorado on December 15th 1989. He sparingly drove the car on nice weather days over for the next 23 years until his death. He kept the car in immaculate condition from day #1. It was sold in March of 2013 to a friend of his who only owned the car for 5 months until I got it. Ive had the car for almost three years and have put about 1,000 miles on it. This car is hard to describe, because its just that nice. There are no issues. But I will go through everything i can.......... Starting with the exterior. The paint is all original and super nice, this car never sat outside and was always kept clean and polished. It shines like a new car and there areabsoluteyno paint lines or areas that are questionable. Its all original. There are just a few very small stone chips on the hood, front bumper and ground effect in front of the rear tires that have been carefully touched up. But these are all very small and minor. I added the POLICE grill and the original is included. This was a NOS part with a NOS Ford oval. The headlight are original, and perfect, no haze and true FOMOCO originals. I think one fog light may be cracked. All of the rubber trim around the windows has its nice soft skin and is not chalky or rough. The glass is all original and nice. The sides and back glass have been tinted with 3-M. The original 15" BASKET WEAVE aluminum wheels are perfect, perfect, perfect with center caps and new tires. Their included with the car. I installed a NOS set of 16" SLICERS that I had Chromed in California with brand new set ofMichelin's(one size larger than stock) to give itthat SHO PLUS look. These wheels and tires have about 300 miles on them. The interior is in-peck-able! NOT a stain, scuff, tear, wear, or hair anywhere! Its trulyimmaculate. The leather seats looks like it just rolled off the assembly line (even the driver seat and outer bulster). Its all original and there has not been any restoration work to the interior either. The carpet is hard to believe. NO WEAR! Steering wheel...NO WEAR, Shift knob..........yep, NO WEAR. The original radio is working and in the trunk. Second owner did a blue tooth upgraded deck?? Why, I dont know, but its easilyreversible. All original floor mats are there and PERFECT. Inside the glovebox you will find all of the original books with the owner protection card and metal plate, key card, maintenance card, owners guide, Ford bag the books came in, original keys and the build sheet found inside the car. The only thing its missing is the original window sticker. Under the hood is killer nice. AbsoluteyNO oil leaks and super nice in every way. All of the zinc bolts and brackets have their original shine, the Goldish engine paint is still glossy and has never rubbed the hood pad which is perfect too, original factory chalk and grease pen marks are there. It has had the timing belt, radiator and battery replaced and that is it. Even has the original dated spark plug wires. The chassis is the same............floors were undercoated at the dealer, so their black instead of E Cote with body color overspray. But all of the suspension, drive train and exhaust look really nice. No oil residue, curb scrapes or salt spray from winter driving. The trunk is like everything else, super clean and nice, the original spare, jack and tools are there and have never touched the ground. This SHO drives like a new car, never driven hard and it shows. Its really tight and feels light which is what I love about Gen 1 SHO's. My dad had a brand new '93 and it felt nose heavy, where this car is like a fox body mustang, LIGHT AND NIMBLE. Everything on this car works perfect; A/C, power front seats, all windows, gauges, lights, horn, wipers etc etc etc. Everything to my knowledge works as it should. I personally think the GEN 1 SHO Taurus is a very handsome car with lots of great features for its time. I have a clear Colorado title in my name ready to transfer ownership. This car needs to be preserved to the HIGH LEVEL its in, so ifyou'relooking forsecond car as a beater, this ones not for you. For the heck of it, I did a car fax and as expected, its perfect with no issues. Car includes a nice soft fleece cover. I purchased some loweing springs for it (which would look cool down a little), but then after getting them I decided it would be a shame to modify this lil virgin. So their included as well. This needs to back in a collection.... or to a SHO or Ford enthusiast who will love the car like I have and the original owner did. Ive been a ebay member since 2000 with 100% feedback, so you should feel comfortable bidding, knowing im a trustworthy person and a hard core car guy. Call with questions 303 475-4544 I purchased a 05 Ford GT (GT-40) so I have to sell a few things to cover that. I also have a 95 cobra R for sale. Same condition............... Thanks |
