1949 ford f1 ratrod. It has a 1983 Mercedes 3.0 5 cylinder diesel mated to a Mercedes 4 speed manual transmission. It runs, drives, stops as a 67 year old vehicle should. It is a RATROD, not a show piece. It does have some surface rust as seen, no real holes to speak of. The bed floor is wide rough cut pine. The fuel tank is mounted in the trunk in the bed. The exhaust is all new, straight pipes with new down pipe. The frame bed cab doors hood running boards and rear end are all original. The bench seat is from a Toyota. The rear window is plexi glass. Both LF Windows have cracks as seen. The front axle is from the 1930's. It has a front disc brake conversion so the pads, rotors, calipers, front wheel bearings, front tires, front baby moon rims are all new. It currently has no front shocks. Also it has a brand new aluminum radiator, cooling fan, expansion tank, belt, alternator, fresh oil change and fuel filter, etc... It is by no means a speed demon or power house but is fun to drive and easily does the speed limit. On smooth roads it's a blast to drive, on uneven roads more attention is needed. It could probably use an alignment at least. It has manual brakes, manual steering, drum rear brakes. The led tail lights, head lights all work. There is NO speedometer and NO turn signals. The bed floor is wide rough cut pine. Like any old diesel it does leak oil. The rear window is plexi glass.
