eBay template information@RKMotorsCharlotte. com 5527 Lakeview Road. Charlotte. NC. 28269. US 1956 Ford F100 Award Winning F100 Pickup Supercharged 400 V8 700R4 4 Speed A/C PS Year: 1956 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Red Mileage: 349 Transmission type: 4 Speed Automatic Engine: 400 V8 Interior color: White Vehicle info The Ford F-Series is known across the globe as a tough. virtually unbreakable workhorse. Through solid engineering and fresh innovation. America's best-selling nameplate has dominated the full-size truck market for close to 30 years. With that in mind. the demand for classic trucks has never been hotter. And that means. after a lifetime of dedicated service. more and more of these gladiators are being retired to dry garages and leisurely show fields. One such stalwart is this magazine-featured F100. The beneficiary of an extensive. frame-off restoration. this award-winning Effie wraps a dressed small block and elegant interior in many well-thought modifications that make it a perfect candidate for miles of parade and years of display. If you're in the market for a stand out classic. settle in and take a closer look at this sweet Ford pickup!Purchased as a solid California driver. this F100 continued to work on a farm even after the first restoration of its mostly-original sheetmetal. But it wasn't long until the pickup had become the pride of its family. and its owners decided to move forward with an epic. no-holds-barred teardown. After being shipped to a well-known shop by the name of Hot Rod Fabrication in Auburn. Washington. the truck's body was entirely disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. Once that tough fuselage was reassembled and two-times blocked. two coats of Epoxy primer laid a nice foundation for modern Ford Toreador Red Metallic base. That pigment was detailed with an Oak bed. which underwent its own process of rejuvenation via Vermont Maple stain. lots of sanding and three coats of resin. And everything was eventually sprayed in a slick layer of urethane clear. In late 2006. the truck was rolled out of the paint booth to be lovingly wet-sanded and carefully polished. And today. a little over $267K later. this classy hot rod is one sizzling show-stopper that's cooler than pretty much every car at any show its owner chooses to attend!A big part of successfully marketing cars and trucks is coming up with memorable but sometimes cheesy slogans. You might find this clich. but 'Built Ford Tough' and 'Built To Last' perfectly describe this fine custom. Despite taking on the softer attributes of a street rod. it still maintains the rugged good looks of traditional Ford trucks. And. thanks to the previous owner's carefully planned modifications. it has a distinct charm that'll last for generations. That charm begins with a bright chrome grille. which hangs a big "V8" emblem and modern tri-bar headlights over integrated parking lamps and a classy chrome bumper. Behind that grille. a CPP reverse-tilt hood positions intricate Ford emblems around a filled cowl and capped windshield wipers. At the sides of that hood. broad fenders lead the eye to rounded doors. traditional door handles. custom running boards and a custom fuel door. At the top of those fenders. an exclusive 'Big Window' cab hangs filled seams and an original backlite behind small mirrors. correct "Custom Cab" emblems and stylish stainless trim. And at the back of the truck. a chained. "FORD" stamped tailgate rides between "Ford" branded taillights and a second classy bumper. Sometimes looks can be deceiving. Case in point: the fact that this truck's grille sports a broad Ford V8 badge when. in reality. its conservative Y-Block was long ago exchanged for a modern Chevy small block that's been professionally rebuilt. fully finished and bored out to a stout 411 cubic inches! At the top of that smoothed mill. a polished air cleaner funnels wind in to a Holley 750 carburetor that's serviced by polished fuel lines. an Auto Meter pressure gauge. braided fuel hoses and a coated Edelbrock pump. Below that carb. a polished B&M 144 supercharger feeds milled. ported and polished Edelbrock Performer heads. which anchor stainless valves and Crane roller rockers beneath aluminum. "CHEVROLET" branded valve covers. Below those heads. Eagle H-beam connecting rods push dished Keith Black pistons at the sides of a beefy Crane roller cam. Combustion is sparked by MSD 8360 ignition. which is hooked to a traditional points distributor. loomed Taylor plug wires and Jacobs ceramic plug boots. Cooling comes courtesy of a custom Ron Davis radiator. a big pulley fan. polished fluid tubes and a coated Edelbrock water pump. And spent gases travel through custom. long-tube headers that bolt in proximity to a modern serpentine system. which spins a polished alternator opposite a Vintage Air AC compressor. Aesthetically. the jet-black mill contrasts well against great looking dress up items like a polished overflow tank. a polished K&N fuel filter and a high quality Lokar throttle linkage. And concealed American Autowire electronics combine with a 4-inch recessed firewall to seamlessly accommodate the truck's slightly relocated drivetrain. Every good hot rod has a solid foundation. Flip this Ford upside down and you'll find a roster of mechanical improvements that mix classic looks with modern mobility. Behind the big-bore engine. a smoothed and race-prepped 700R4 4-speed makes good use of a 2. 00 RPM torque converter. That converter twists power to a powder-coated Lincoln Versailles axle. which spins 4. 11 Richmond gears. Holding that tough transmission off the ground is an F2 Camaro front half. which frames beefy Eibach springs and a GM Saginaw steering box in proven Fat Man control arms. Holding that exclusive rear end off the ground is a Ford back half. which utilizes relocated spring mounts to hang custom Southwest leaf springs. All that impressive hardware gravitates around a boxed and smoothed frame that's been braced with tubular cross members. The drivetrain's momentum is countered by GM front disc brakes. Ford rear disc brakes and a heavy duty Wilwood proportioning valve. The custom. 3-inch headers flow into a 3-inch. ceramic-coated exhaust system that shuffles spent gases through throaty Flowmaster mufflers. Everything rolls on 16-inch Centerline wheels. which spin 225/55 BF Goodrich Comp T/As in front of 255/50 BF Goodrich Comp T/As. And everything. from the truck's Milodon oil pan to its shortened driveshaft. is fully sorted and ready to roll!1-part vintage and 1-part modern. this pickup's warm and welcoming interior looks straight out of an old school Hot Rod magazine. At the front of the cockpit. a red-capped dash centers a Clarion CD player between simple air conditioning vents. small MQQN gauges and a modified speedo that was tweaked by United Speedometer Service. In front of that dash. a hand-stuffed. Tijuana-style seat seems appropriate to the feel of the truck's restoration. At the bottom of that seat. Dynamat insulation anchors premium carpet under a Lokar shifter. billet foot pedals. and piped and color-keyed floor mats. Opposite that carpet. a fiberglass headliner anchors an original speaker and dome lamp behind an original. body-matched mirror. At the edges of that liner. custom side panels integrate power windows. chrome door handles and sculpted armrests behind modern kick speakers. In front of the driver. a polished and leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel laps a cool MQQN tachometer. which is anchored to a tilting Ididit column. And behind the passengers. a custom stainless fuel tank rides under a requisite fire extinguisher. The proud new owner of this American icon will receive:An original data plateA stack of restoration receiptsA copy of the truck's April. 2007 feature in Custom Classic Trucks MagazineA binder that includes a detailed restoration history and numerous restoration photosA pair of stainless windshield wipersThe classic truck market has never been better. and customs like this svelte F100 are a testament as to why.
