Description of 1963 Ford Other

1963 Ford Cortina MK1 Deluxe 4-door with 2. 8 liter V-6 and 5-speed conversion. Would need some work to be a show car. but decent daily driver and a great weekend back roads or rally car. Would also be a great car for track days or vintage racing. Body is in great shape for a 50+ year old car. No evidence of major accidents that I can see. very little evidence of any rust. Possible small amount of filler here and there (maybe lower doors?). but I didn't look closely for it since I'm really happy with the way the car looks. Of course that's subjective. I purchased the car in eastern Nevada where the previous owner has lived for many years. Prior to that it was a California car. Car has been repainted by previous owner in what looks to be the original colors. Note the hood. I once started driving not having closed the hood. It flew up once I hit ~20 MPH. Will need a little attention to put back in place properly - an easy fix if you have the right skill set. The original interior is mostly all there but in rough condition. High quality interior reproductions are available from the U. K. . but your call if it's worth pursuing. I was just going to tidy it up myself with locally sourced non-original materials. I'll include a pair of new condition Mustang replica front lower seat covers that are a close match. I didn't install them because I planned on replacing the seats. All glass is good. Some door window seals could be replaced to reduce wind noise at speed. Engine and transmission work great. Engine is small. lightweight and torquey. Transmission is great and seems to function flawlessly. Clutch was replaced recently by previous owner. The code on the transmission tag indicates it was sourced from a late 80s Camaro or Firebird. I don't know what the engine is out of. maybe an S-10 pickup? Weber 2-barrel carb. I believe electronic ignition. 50 amp 1-wire alternator (per previous owner). Battery relocated to trunk. Search YouTube for video of it running and driving. Koni shocks in the rear. urethane bushings in much of the suspension. front end rebuilt recently by previous owner. Unknown if front struts have been modified. Handles quite good. This is a tight handling 2000 lb car - it surprises a lot of people with how capable it is on the back roads. PHOTO NOTES:Most photos I took right after the Faultline 500. It's less dusty now that I've cleaned it. I hit the oil pan on a rock on the Faultline 500 - that's why you'll note some oil in some photos. The engine was not run dry. and the pans has since been repaired. The alloy wheels shown in the last photo are not included in this auction. Comes with nice clean CA title. registered in my name. current registration. title in hand. I am in possession of the original CA black plates. they come with the car. I'm the 3rd owner. I have some of the original papers/brochures/manuals from the first owner. Unknown mileage. Needs a few odds and ends. but nothing major. Does not come with any service records to speak of. Previous owner wasn't the type to keep records. Recent work done by the previous owner includes new clutch. differential rebuild. front end rebuild. new exhaust system. nbsp;urethane bushings. I have changed the oil and transmission fluid. installed an electric fuel pump and radiator fan. front end alignment. Comes with a few spares: axles. taillight lens. grill. brake master cylinder. maybe a few other things. Runs well. handles great. other than the rough interior. it looks pretty good. This is a good running. nice tight car. Really fun to drive. particularly on the back roads. I also have the car listed locally. BEFORE BIDDING:Your bid is a commitment to buy my car as-is. where is. I've described the car as honestly and accurately as I can. but keep in mind I am not a professional mechanic. This is a 50-year old car. and has been modified. so expect minor issues. Please ask any questions. arrange to see it in person. do any due diligence before bidding. I want the new owner to be happy with their purchase. but I also value my time. Please think before you click. Thanks for understanding. Buyer is to make all arrangements for any shipping. I can possibly deliver locally or to your shipper. assume $1/mile. and I must be paid in full prior to delivery. videos of the Cortina running and driving:http://youtu. be/5mfGawU6jUohttp://youtu. be/u2F_mJThWsshttp://youtu. be/5fEpH_2DMaohttp://youtu. be/in3CJoM0Be0http://youtu. be/6seSc3p9v38More photos here:s27. photobucket. com/user/joefj1200/library/Cortina?sort=3&page=1Note there is no sign of rust in the truck. or on the strut towers. This car spent most of it's life in dry climates and/or in garages. I hope that helps. Thanks for looking and good luck!Joe
