Description of 1966 Ford Mustang

1966 mustang coupe C code 289 with automatic. This car has been restored every nut and bolt has been touched. Many parts where replaced and upgraded. The car was built to be a daily driver that would be safe for grand children to drive. The original engine was rebuilt with only a mild cam being added. The heads were upgraded to be able to run todays unleaded gas. The original 2 barrel carb was rebuilt and retained. A solid state ignition was added for reliability. The transmition was replaced with a freashly rebuilt one and the drive shaft bearings were replaced and the shaft was balanced. The rear end was serviced with new gear oil. The break system was replaced and upgraded with a 2 reservoir system with a bias valve being adder. The front brakes were replaced with disk and all the rear brake parts were replaced with new part as well as all new brake lines. Power brake assists added. New exhaust sytem was added. The gas tank was replaced and all gas lines. The stock power steering system was replaced with a flaming river power rack and pinion unit matched to a flaming river adjustable steering column and steering wheel. The complete wiring harness was replaced with a American wiring harness. Front and rear light unites were replaced as well as everything under the dash ( heating system complete with new hoses/box ) The stock gage pack was replaced with a new xxxxxx. The front seat foam and cover were replaced as well as door panels and dash cover. The stock sound system was replaced including head and speakers. The car was fit with 3 point seat belts front and back. As for the body any rust areas were replaced with new medal and the hood was replaced with a medal and fiberglass GT hood. The fresh air intake was replaced both inside and outer panels as well as the front window. That work was all done at Mustang Restorations in Dundee. IL. The car was painted using PPG paint products. Now the bad: My fathers health failed before the car was painted. A rush paint job was done in order for him to see the finished car before his passing. Sadly he didn't last long after. The paint was put on before the finish sanding was done and so the sanding marks show as well as the car wasn't prepped well and the paint is lifting in a few areas as well as it flashed on the trunk and the coverage below the doors wasn't good. If I were to keep it I would repaint it the right way. But as you can see from the pictures it looks good from a distance. My father would call it a 20/ 20 paint job. it looks great 20 feet away at 20 miles an hour. I have driven the car over 800 miles with no problems. The only things I know need to be done are the head lights have never been adjusted. the front window wash system is there but the hoses were never installed ( new wiper switch was installed along with wiper motors ) The steering wheel is one turn off meaning the turn signal cansilation wark turning one way but only works the other was if given a extra turn. The wrong kick down cable for the transmission was installed. It should have a shorter cable and is easy to get. The one on the car is for the 6 cylinder rather than 8 cylinder. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. The car is for sale locally so I have the right to end the listing early if the car sales.
