Description of 1956 Ford Thunderbird

For sale is this very rare Sage green 1956 Ford Thunderbird featuring 34000 original miles. This vehicle runs better than new and is loaded with original equipment including: power windows. power brakes. power seat. automatic transmission. town and country self seeking radio. seat belts(FOMOCO equipment). white vinyl soft top convertible. removable white porthole hardtop. This car has the original 312 V8 engine. Holley 4 barrel teapot style carburetor. and oil bath air cleaner; it even has the original headlights (they don't make reproductions of these). This is a two owner car. no accidents. all original rust free sheet metal. Basically the story is this: This car was bought in 1956 by the original owners who drove it around the country from 1956 to 1959. The car was then stored until their death in 1977. My grandfather bought this car in 1977 from the original owners estate; used it occasionally and stored it until 2008 when I began a minor restoration to get the car working again. I replaced the tires (the tires were from 1959!). radiator. shocks. wheel cylinders. carpeting and fuel tank. Re-wrapped the seat and dashboard. Rebuilt the brake booster and master cylinder. and gave the car a tune-up. Everything else is original FOMOCO equipment. Everything works on this car. The Thunderbird Green or Sage. was only available in 1956 and only 4% of production vehicles used this color. There were a total of 15. 51 Thunderbirds built this year. In 2009 Amos Minter sold a restored version of this vehicle for a record selling price of $128. 00 including buyers premium. Recent sales range from 30k up to over $100. 00. For the $30. 00 range. the buyer usually ends up with a vehicle that does not run properly and is in need of restoration. This is the best example of a 1956 Thunderbird with these options. mileage. and pedigree on the market for this price.
