Welcome (again) Ford Maverick fans and thank you for checking out my 1972 Ford Maverick Grabber. Some of you may have seen this car on here a month or so ago. The reserve wasn't met and I have been contemplating just keeping the car but I really need to free up some garage space. so I have decided to try and sell the Maverick again. With the holidays over. maybe it will do a little better. The big difference is this time. I'll start with a bottom line price and see what happens. What does this mean? If you place a bid. you're bidding to win. Good luck. If you’re looking for a 100% show car in perfect condition. this isn’t it. However. if you’re in the market for a good looking. solid. running/driving classic you can have some fun with that gets lots of attention. then please keep reading. The 1972 Ford Maverick Grabber model was a small bumper car (verses later model Mavericks) with twin hood scoops. rear deck lid. end caps and unique stripes which gave it a distinctive look over the more basic. strip down models. This particular car decodes as: VIN - 2X93F184303 (2) 1972. (X) built in St Thomas. Canada. (93) Grabber package and (F) 302 V8. Body - 62D (Maverick 2 Door Sport Sedan Grabber) Color - 3J (Bright Blue) Trim - HA (Maverick website decoder does not have interior codes for 1972 models). Transmission W (C4 automatic) Axle - 6 (3. 00:1) DSO - 28 (Louisville. Kentucky) It’s a factory V8 (F code) 302. 2 barrel car that has been upgraded to a Holley 4 barrel with a Holley street dominator intake and long tube headers. The odometer shows 26. XX miles (126K). I don’t have any information about the motor/transmission as to whether they've been rebuilt or not? What I do know is it runs good. doesn't smoke and shifts fine. It also has an aluminum radiator. upgraded alternator. factory power steering and air conditioning but unfortunately the a/c doesn't work. It’s not currently hooked up at the fire wall but appears to be complete as can be seen in the pictures. The car has factory drum brakes. sport mirrors and 3-point seat belts and no radio. The car has been repainted (don't know when) in what appears to be the factory color of bright blue. It's driver quality. has some nicks. chips. etc. It's not all rusted out. doors. hood. fenders. etc. . all line up good. It has black interior but the seat covers and door panels are obviously not factory Ford. I have a pair of high back bucket seats (out of an early 70’s mustang) that I was going to put in the car when I got around to updating the interior that will be included in the sale. The wheels are American Racing (AR 815’s). The car currently rides on 15 x 4 with 165/80/15 on the front and 15 X 8 with 275/60/15 out back. When I bought the car. it had 14 inch wheels (also included in the sale) with 215/70/14 on the front but I prefer the “big/little” look so I purchased the matching “skinnies”. In the last three months. the care has received a new 2 ½ exhaust from the headers back with Flowmaster knockoffs dumped in front of the rear axle and a new rear pinion seal.
