Description of 1954 Ford Other Pickups Mercury

This is a 1954 Mercury Standard Cab Pickup Truck. This was going to be another project, but I have way to many to add to the list so I'm offering it now in this auction with NO RESERVE. This is a RARE TRUCK and needs total restoration to operate safely. These Mercury pickups are very rare and unusual in the US due to only being sold in rural farming areas in Canada between 1946 and 1968. When restored they are bringing high dollars and are considered a real good investment.
I have a back half 1/2 ton Ford pickup bed frame and differential (1953-1955) that is included in the auction. It was made into a trailer and you can see it hooked to the pickup in the pictures. I was going to graft the 1/2 ton bed/frame to eliminate the 3/4 ton rear axle and heavy duty springs. This would make the truck into a 1/2 ton as many of the parts from a 1953 - 1955 Ford pickup are the same as with the Canadian Mercury pickups. The stainless/chrome trim just said Mercury rather than Ford and the tailgate also had the Mercury lettering. You will notice that the bed is very straight and has good fenders and tailgate. Pictures are included that shows the truck well. Flat glass needs to be replaced. You will notice that the Grill has the Mercury stainless in the center.
The truck rolls freely and steers OK (armstrong power steering) Tires all hold air. It should load easily on a trailer and I will assist if needed.
Keep the patina as is and just fix the running gear and you will have a fantastic Mercury Pickup that is different and not seen in the US. That is what I was going to do if I had kept the truck. It would make a perfect rat rod too if that is what you would like to do and it wouldn't cost a lot.
I have a complete Ford 351 Cleveland motor with A/C and C-6 Automatic transmission that I was going to put in the truck. It is not part of the no reserve auction. I would sell it to the highest bidder, if interested, at the close of the auction.
See the photo of the clear Oregon title that matches the vin number for the Mercury truck. That will make getting a new title in your name with DMV a lot easier.
I will require a $500 non refundable deposit from the highest bidder via Pay Pal at the close of the auction. This will hold the truck until you complete the transaction and pick up the truck. I would like to move the truck out as soon as possible as I need the space and who knows it might start to snow any time now.
If you have any questions please ask and I will respond to you as soon as I can.
