Description of 1967 Ford Thunderbird

The 1967 Thunderbird Tudor you are viewing was delivered from the factory with its two-tone Candy Apple Red body and Wimbledon White top: no vinyl here, this is not a Landau. In the several years of searching I have only seen one other 67-69 Tbird with factory two-tone paint. This Tbird was ordered with beautiful "parchment" vinyl interior that is in very good condition. No tears, cracks, fading, stains. The dash is also in perfect condition. No warping or cracks. The interior and exterior are all in very good condition as is the engine compartment and trunk. No rust, dents or dings. All chrome is in excellent condition. This is an early model ’67 residing in Southern California. I have owned the car for approximately 4 years and sadly need to part ways with her so I can make way for my dream car. This '67 Thunderbird Tudor is in beautiful condition and has been well maintained. It has been cosmetically restored at some point in her life.

Options include :

  • AM radio with 8-Track tape player
  • power antenna
  • remote trunk release
  • two-tone paint
  • No power windows or seat. This car was ordered without air-conditioning

Details:

  • 1967 Ford Thunderbird Tudor

  • 66,645 original miles (I’ve put 3,000 on it since I’ve owned it)
  • Factory two-tone paint: Candy Apple Red / Wimbledon White

  • Absolutely no rust

  • 390 engine runs strong and smooth – it appears to have been correctly restored by a previous owner

  • Original carburetor rebuilt four years ago

  • All hoses and gaskets replaced

  • New fuel line

  • New brakes when I purchased the car – still lots of life left in them

  • Newer exhaust system (replaced by the previous owner approx. 6 years ago)

  • Rebuilt hood hinges

  • Original carpets still look good

  • Original-style floor mats

  • All gauges work although the clock is a little fast

  • No cracks in the dash or armrests

  • The steering wheel has two splits that are fairly common. It can be repaired. I never got around to removing the wheel and doing it myself.

  • Paint in good condition. I would say it was repainted sometime within the last 10 years in the original colors. Not a perfect job but presents very well. There is one minor scratch on the front corner of the hood. There are a few dimples in the finish but it’s bright and shiny

  • Trunk is in good condition with original lining.

  • Two sets of hubcaps, one spinner set that was an option and the turbine style that came with the car. The spinner caps are driver quality but show nicely

  • Vacuum headlamp covers work well and stay closed when the car is off

  • Vacuum tilt-away steering wheel works well

  • Vacuum trunk release button works well

  • Sequential turn signals work well

  • All chrome is in very good condition. No dents or scratches

  • The black/yellow California plates are originals and in excellent condition. They are not original to the car, but are correct for the year down to the alpha sequence (VPN would have been a proper starting letter for 67 – 68) I paid $400 for the plates alone and will include them with the car if desired

  • I have all receipts for the work I’ve done on the car and would be happy to provide them

  • I also have a binder full of original sales brochures and advertisements

  • Original keys and one spare set.

There are a few things I would do provided I had the time:

  • The windshield washer pump stopped working a few months ago and needs to be repaired or replaced

  • The 8-track doesn’t work properly, it runs slow, but could be repaired

  • Repair the steering wheel

  • Radiator may need to be re-cored

Aside from that, the car runs and drives strong. Starts up after a just a few pumps of the accelerator and shifts smoothly.

I’ve driven it to from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara and to Palm Springs without any hesitation.

Overall this is a very nice example of a hard to find “Glamour Bird”.

Happy to answer all questions. I would like to see her go to a good home, she’s a unique and fun to drive car
