Description of 1987 Ford Other

1987 FORD LOW-TILT SEAGRAVE AERIAL LADDER DECOMMISSIONED COLLECTIBLE FIRE TRUCK DECOMMISSIONED FORD LOW-TILT "C" SEAGRAVE AERIAL LADDER FIRE TRUCK! BACKGROUND: No longer commissioned as a Fire Truck. this vehicle has been used in many Georgia entertainment events organized by "Wild Bill's". It is being offered for sale STRICTLY as a Collectible and/or Special Interest vehicle and specifically NOT for use as a Fire Truck. Ford built the Low-Tilt "C" Cab and chassis. and from there. it was shipped to Seagrave for outfitting of the remainder of the Fire Track. including the enormous Aerial Ladder. SEAGRAVE - as Fire Apparatus enthusiasts know - is the longest operating fire equipment maker in the United States which specializes in pumper. rescue. and aerial towers vehicles. OPERATIONAL REPORT: The current owner hired a Fireman to drive the Fire Truck to the lot where it is currently stored. Because a special license is required to drive the truck. it was only "lot driven" as a brief test for this listing. The ladder was successfully raised and lowered. However. it is NOT recommended that the ladder be extended or retracted because this aspect of operation is unreliable. Overall. this is a highly complex vehicle with many functions that require special training to operate. New vehicles of this type can sell for $1 million and more. The tilt cab could not be tilted up to view the engine because one of the release handles (see images at right) was stuck. although the power tilt mechanism (though somewhat erratic) did begin to lift the cab. There are many accessories. including a generator that local experts suggest has a value of $3000 all by itself. IMPORTANT NOTES: Please note ALL of the following disclaimers which will also appear on the fully notarized (i. e. Buyer and Seller) Bill of Sale:1. As a decommissioned Fire Truck. this vehicle is sold strictly as-is and with NO seller warranties or liabilities of ANY kind. It is NOT sold as an operational Fire Truck. It is sold SOLELY as a collectible and special interest item!2. On the day of photography. we were able to raise/lower the aerial ladder. but it CANNOT be reliably extended and retracted. We do NOT recommend operation of the ladder without professional service and certification. 3. The huge out-rigger stability jacks that extend from the fire truck may have to be mechanically secured to prevent "leak-down" from their stowed positions. their use is NOT recommended without professional repair and certification. PLEASE NOTE: To present this impressive Fire Truck in a very comprehensive manner. over 100 images have been provided. The first 14 will give a good general overall look at the truck from many vantage points. The remaining sets of images show all areas of the truck in great detail. and are intended for serious buyers. To see ALL of the images. you MUST place your cursor on an image - allow plenty of time for all images to download - and then scroll slowly ALL the way to the bottom. CAUTION: if you use the scroller to the FAR RIGHT of your screen or the "Click to view image album" feature. you will NOT see all the images. 2. 74 TRANSACTIONS WITH HAPPY PEOPLE!
