Description of 1939 Ford Other tan

1939 Ford Standard Woodie Wagon. Rust-free car with Completely New Maple Body. I bought this car back in 1998 in Mississippi from the grandson of the original owner. He told me his grandfather used it for hunting Big Bear along the banks of the "Old Miss" when the car was new. The car was complete and running, but the wood was pretty whipped. I had done enough Woodie restoration to know that patching one up will never compare with excellent wood. After all, the wood is the focal point. So I had my woodworker craftsman build a new body exactly as Henry Ford's men did. He has done 6 or so of these for me, but this time I wanted to use as much"birdseye" maple in the framing as he could find. The result is awesome and the pictures don't do it justice. I removed the Flathead motor and transmission as the vision was to install a modern drivetrain for reliability, fun and for any family member to enjoy. I guess I should back up a bit and say that the car actually is a 1938 DeLuxe model, but my preference for looks is the 39 standard. And the only difference is the hood, side panels, and grille. So I have everything for the car less engine and trans. However, I have usable originals if that is the way you want to go. All 3 sets of seats have tan vinyl upholstery. Bumpers are straight but will need some rechroming. Frame and all sheet metal is straight, clean and rust-free. All the window garnish moldings, steering wheel, etc. are there. I have the upper tailgate window frame not pictured. I have included some pictures of the pieces and have more on request. perfect to build your way, your color, etc. Hot-rod, Street rod or Restore. It is virtually a blank canvas to you- the artist. A rare opportunity to start with a project where the hardest part is done- the wood. My reserve is set very realistically. You know what a project car will cost(if you could find one this cherry?) and the cost of a new body depending on your location can be $30K. Most do it your-selfers can complete this from the stage it is in. Please contact me with any questions and for more info. I will assemble the car for shipping the way I would want it to arrive at my house. I also reserve the right to end the auction early as it will be listed in other venues. Sold with Bill of Sale. We are not a title state. Located in CT. Feel free to come see it. (860) 913-4680
