Description of 1979 Ford Bronco

1979 Bronco. 460. automatic. nbsp; 98. 00 original miles. I have owned and restored several 70's model Fords over the years as a hobby. I purchased this Bronco about two years ago. It had been parked with a stuck valve on the original 351m motor. It sat for 17 years in the guys back yard until I rescued it. I bought it because it was a pretty straight unmolested truck. If you deal with these trucks much you know that's hard to find. I installed a 1976 460 motor out of a van type motor home. I have done several of these conversions and have learned what it takes to do them correctly. I used all of the van brackets . manifolds. and components. There was no cutting or welding of any part. I used l&l products motor mounts and it has a new radiator. This 460 looks like it came in this Bronco from the factory. I inspected the motor before installing and replaced all the gaskets. The cylinder walls still had cross hatch marks and all the hose clamps and fasteners were still stamped FORD. Also the paper tag on the valve cover with all the information still looks new. I believe this to be a 25. 00 original mile motor. That is what the motor home odometer showed and appeared to be original. There are no leaks from the motor. and runs great. It has a Holley 4barrel carb that works well. You can start this truck in 10 degree temps and it will idle until you come back. I drive this truck every day and would not be afraid to drive it anywhere. I have installed a 4" suspension lift that has all the extra parts . drop radius arm brackets and bushings. new degree bushings. new sway bar bushings. track bar bracket and new bushings. all new shocks. Has 35" BF. Goodrich mud tires on front and Courser MT's on back. I have 2 BF Goodrich's that come with bronco that were on back. I just replaced them because they were a little choppy and rode rough. Overall body is in good shape. worst part is floor boards are rusty from sitting in the yard for so many years. Metal has been patched over drivers side with screws but the rest has not been patched yet. Right rear quarter has a little rust ( see pic ). nbsp; left quarter has no rust and appears original. Normal tailgate and door bottom rust for the year. Truck was repainted with cheap paint at some point several years ago and is faded and cracked . but I kinda always liked the patina. Interior is nothing glamorous but is all original. Front seats are ripped . floor mat is dry rotted and cracked up. But its all 35 years old. never replaced. The gas gauge works but reads incorrectly. When it shows empty it still has about 10 gal. left. Rear window works but is slow. has new motor. Has air conditioning but does not work. Overall this is a fun dependable old Ford that you can take the top off of and have a lot of fun with in the summer and blast through the snow in the winter. I am only selling it to finish a 66 ford restoration I have going right now. I require $500 deposit within 48 hours of end of auction. and full payment at time of pickup.
