Description of 1978 Ford LTD II "incognito Thunderbird" V8 Coupe Rust Free 74k Miles

Hi thanks for checking out the LTD. It looks pretty plain jane here with the whitewalls and hubcaps but add aset of Detroit Steel Wheels and a lower it andthisLTD willtransform instantlytothat long and lowMob Steel style.
It is a No Reserve Auction. High bidder at the ends will own it next.
Please bid with confidence thisis aNo Reserve auction.I have let the plates expire, I have nowmoved out of state, and havenow lost inside storage for it. It is currently in my friends driveway right now until the next owner picks it up.And so for these reasonsI want this to be a successful auction with no surprises or funny business.I am notlisting it locally or off ebay. The auction will not be ended early. This listing will go to the end. There is no buy it now price.
The photos are all recent from this spring andlast fall. This car has spent its entirety out west. I found it in north Phoenix Arizona last summer.I searchedfora rust free, all original (stock), no accident, 2 door ford 70s coupe and found this one. It spentits first 28 years inthe Phoenix climate void of rain and snow and salt. It is100% rust free. The body seams and typical rust out areasstill looknearlynew. You have to see it to believe it but the pictures do pretty good.So anyway I love it andI shipped it back hometo Michigan. Sincethen its seen less than 100 miles and Ihave not had the time to useitas much or do as Iintended to.
5.0L/302 Automatic, 74k miles. Bucket seats, Tan interior.
Maintenance:New last fall/summer: battery, cables, coolant, rad hoses, water pump, fuel pump, tires, brakes, exhaust and shocks, tinted windows.I completely forgot to take photos of the trunk. it has all the factory mat/carpet and cardboard cosmetic sides. its Imaculate and like new under the mat/carpet.
HIstory: I purchased it from a guy who is into these odd ball big body ford coupes of the late 70swhopurchased it from the original owner. And Hewas driving it daily when I bought it.The original owner had it repainted and a new top installed in 1999. Included are pre-paint photos that show the car had only faded paint on the hood and roof.
The car came toMichigan last fall and wasstoredlast winter. It starts up with one pump sets the choke, runs smooth, stays cool, and drives/rides excellent. There is no smoke or leaks. There are no shakes or shimmys or vibrations. The chassis istight andrides smooth as to be expected.
Mechanically its almost-almostexcellent.The exhaustflange gasket hasacrack in itso it has a small exhaust leak. It isslightly noticeable at idleand cruising and can be heardmore prominently under full throttleacceleration. The EGR valve started sticking as well with the introduction to the damp weather this spring. I am out of town until a few days after the auction ends.My options now are tohave my friend fix it or have him take it somewhere. Neithersoundgood to me as I am a mechanical type guy and normally Ijust buy the part and fix anything myself. If I can fix these items before the auction ends I willl and update the listing description. Otherwise it is as stated. Arizona vehicles are the nicest to work on as all the nuts and boltsdo not have anycorrosion from the humidity. Nothing ever breaks and rarely needs any penetrating oil. Even the exhaust bolts turn off with minimal effort where normally are headaches with even clean northeastern vehicles.
Please note: hole in carpet between front seats, driver side interior rear panel has sundamage, steering wheel cover is missing - I have one, but the car has cruise control and requires the cover with controls, A/C is not cold, and headliner is torn.
Please ask any questions. Pick it up and pay cash, or bank wire transfer and ship it. Shipping is pretty cheap these days around 6-800 to just about anywherewithin a 1500 miles of Detroit.Sorry Iwill notaccept any paper check or money order or cashiers checks..
