That being said, up for sale is my 32,XXX origional mile 1987 Mustang GT 5.0 Convertible 5-speed manual transmission Fox body in Oxford white (with white top), and Scarlet red interior (desirable color combo). I am the second owner, and my family purchased the vehicle BRAND new. It still has the origional dealer sticker from 1987 on the rear trunk lid. I bought it off of my father about 3 years ago. I am only selling due to a Military relocation to San Antonio, Texas, and a shoulder injury that doesn't make it too convenient to shift a manual transmission.
All routine maintenance since purchase has been done, adding only tasteful modifications that allow for better longevity, and a better driving experience. Most have been professionally installed by Steeda in Valdosta, GA and has maintenance paperwork approximately 2" thick that comes with the car.
The vehicle has polureythane bushings almost all the way around, other than motor and transmission mount, as to replace the inferior rubber. New tires were installed around 2,000 miles ago, along with new front and rear brakes (English Brake Company rotors with red stuff pads clear powder coated rear drums (to avoid corrosion), synthetic brake fluid, new power brake booster, new master cylinder, and stainless steel lines. It stops as good as you can achieve without going to a 5 lug swap with bigger brakes. The suspension has matched Steeda front and rear sway bar, Steeda lowering springs (very steerable 1.25" drop), Maximum Motorsports K member connector, Tokiko Illumina adjustable shocks/struts, full length Maximum motorsports subframe connectors welded in by Steeda (needed for a Convertible), rear strut brace, Steeda Upper and Lower control arms, Steeda adjustable camber plates, Steeda engine bay front strut brace. New 3 core aluminum radiator and heater core, new starter/solenoid, plugs, wires, distributor cap/rotor, and battery within the past 3 years. Steering is accomplished through a quick ratio 12:1 Flaming river power rack and Flaming river shaft (which can allow for greater header clearance if so desired). From the exhaust manifolds back is a Bassani stainless steel High flow X-pipe with high flow cats, and stainless Steel Magnaflow catback exhaust. I believe the shifter to be Steeda with bolt stops, but can't remember as it was installed about 15 years ago with my brother, and still performs perfectly. The engine is numbers matching with the original air box with K&N drop in panel filter, and MSD ignition box for better fuel economy. Newer white convertible top was replaced about 1 year ago and the interior has custom Lloyd floor mats with a BEAUTIFULoriginalinterior. The Stereo was done by Best Buy with a hidden back up camera, navigation, blue tooth calling, and all new speakers in their factory locations. It has never had any hacked car alarms, or quirky spaghetti wiring. I have a full size spare rim/tire as well as the doughnut. Power windows/locks, it has dealer installed air at the time of the original vehicle purchase that has been converted to the newer system that works very well. The car will not disappoint, and drives like a modern machine instead of the floaty feeling of convertibles notorious on early Fox bodies.
I can take the car for an inspection to any shop of your choice in a reasonable distance from Columbia, SC at buyers expense, and can take any under carriage photos requested as the vehicle has no rust on the body, and been garage kept. The car had minor paint touch upapporoximately 1 year ago from when the neighbor backed into the driver-side quarter about 3 MPH, and the paint was professionally blended. The only other issue to my knowledge is that the cruise control does not work, and I believe it to be the speed control module.
There are many other parts that come with the car that will go along with it, as I did not intend to sell this car.
