Here’s the VIN decoded.
5 = 1965 (yes for 1964 1/2)
F = Built in Dearborn, Michigan
08 = Convertible
U = Standard 105hp 170ci 6-cylinder (this code was for 1964 1/2 car only).
This is a real 1964 1/2 Ford Mustang Convertible and has been fitted with a rebuilt Ford 302 V8 and 5 speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter. The car just had a new clutch, flywheel and starter motor fitted. Runs and drives like a dream. It has a custom exhaust system that sounds beautiful but is not obnoxiously loud. The car was custom painted Porsche Guards Red (it’s probably the only one in the world painted this color) and it looks stunning.
The engine and transmission has been totally rebuilt. It has an Edelbrock carburetor, custom headers, aluminum racing radiator, Super Stack performance coil, uprated chrome alternator, etc, etc.
Brand new American Racing 17” wheels fitted with new Sumitomo tires. These are staggered wheels, rear are 17” x 9” with 235/45 x 17 tires, and fronts are 17” x 7” with 215/45 x 17 tires.
Power custom red top with glass rear window in perfect working condition.
White interior in great condition.
The car has a 9” rear end, and a Wilwood performance disk brake conversion with heavy duty rear and front shock absorbers.
I’m asking a very reasonable $22k. I would be interested in a partial trade (cash either way) for a classic or newer Porsche, Toyota Tacoma, or even a Subaru.

Many, many upgrades. I’ll try to list them all but I’m sure I’m missing some.
