Description of 1968 Ford Mustang GT

Kevin Marti documented early production Rare S-code Mustang, 1 of 1. Total nut and bolt restoration.Has 4 spd Toploader and bench seat. Numbers matching,original motor and transmission. Has Edelbrock 428 kit on it (heads,cam,intake,timing chain) Harland Sharp roller rockers were used and has a Speed Demon carb. I have all the original parts on another 390 motor that goes with the sale. The car sits 1 inch lower with upgraded Ford motorsport suspension. Front springs are 650-pound coil springs and the front upper A arms have been lowered 1 inch, a modification that Carroll Shelby did to his GT350 and GT500s. Rear springs have been re-arched to match ride height.Bilstein shocks. Shelby's track master style traction bars are tucked up in the rear suspension. The exhaust was custom-built with 3 inch tail pipes up over the axle with flanges for easy removal. The tailpipes tie into FlowMaster 40s, 2.5 inch X pipe and Hooker ceramic coated headers. Power slotted drilled disc brakes up front with stainless steel hoses and drums in the back.The wheels are custom 15 inch chrome GT style wheels with chrome trim rings. 15x7 in the front and 15x8 with custom back spacing in the rear. Tires are BFGoodrich radial TA's 215/65/15 in the front and 275/60/15 on the back.The radiator is a Griffin 1.25 inch tubed aluminum "Exact Fit" unit with factory appearing top, fan shroud and fan. Sitting in traffic at the Rod Run,the car never overheats. The rearend runs 3.50:1 gears and 31-spline Traction-Lok professionally set up in a nodular 9 inch center section and Strange Engineering axles. Original driveshaft with new high-strength universals. 4spd Toploader was professionally rebuilt by David Kee in Texas. New clutch and pressure plate and completely rebuilt clutch arm pedal including a custom-made clutch arm utilizing spherical rod ends. The paint color is light pewter metallic and part of the dash is painted same color.Oil pressure and engine temperature gauges were molded into the ashtray door and has an open air to fuel ratio gauge under dash to optimize carburetion. Grant GT steering wheel and Flaming River steering box. Hurst Competition Plus shifter.Tachometer and speedometer were professionally rebuilt. The mustang lettering on the rear deck lid were removed as were the hood pins and antenna for a super clean look.Call or text for video of the car running 865-441-2369
