Up for sale we have a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback. This is a factory Q Code car, meaning it came from the factory with the 427 engine! This car is in the registry, there's only 17 Q code '64 Models in the registry and of those only 6 are factory Black cars like this one. What you are looking at is a very rare example of one of the original Muscle Cars. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the Ford, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of this Galaxie. The body is rock solid with all the door, hood and trunk gaps being excellent. It's covered in Raven Black which is the factory color. The paint has been polished to a gorgeous shine that shows off the how great of body this '64 has. To accent the Black body, it also has the Black Vinyl Top that appears to have been replaced at the time of the repaint. Looking at the chrome it appears the bumpers have been redone and they done an excellent job. All the emblems are also in great condition with a lot of them appearing original. The stainless on the back along with around the taillights also appears original and are a testament to how well this car has ben taken care of. All the glass is very nice with the side glass operating as it should. To finish off the exterior it's sitting on a set of 15" Steel wheels with the small caps and Firestone Bias Ply Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of this '64. On the inside, this Galaxie features a lot of original components and what was replaced was kept in the factory color scheme. When you open the doors, you'll see the seat covers all appear original and are in excellent condition considering their age. There is some light separating of the stitches in some areas, but it's the overall quality is very impressive. The headliner also appears to be original and is done in white. The door panels and carpet appear to have been replaced at sometime and are in great condition. Looking at the dash, all the instrumentation is beautiful. All the gauges are working along with the dash lights and signals. Even the radio is working in this '64. In the trunk you will see it has the spare, jack, and trunk mat.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of the Ford. Under the hood is what we are all looking for. It features the date code correct (3J24) 427 Engine that's mated to the Toploader Four Speed Transmission and the correct WCN-C 9" Posi Rear End with 4.11 Gears. The 427 is setup with the correct C3AE-9424-E Intake and the correct C3AE-9510-B Holley Carb. It's dressed in the Chrome top breather and valve covers. For exhaust it has the correct manifolds with dual pipes and the factory style can mufflers. This Galaxie has manual brakes with drums on all four corners along with manual steering. The brake lines have been replaced along with the gas lines and gas tank. Under the front end all the components appear to have been replaced at some time and are in great condition. Looking under this Ford you'll see the floors are in excellent condition along with the frame, and that it was taken off the Frame at the time of the restoration.
