Description of 1929 Ford Model A

You are looking at a 1929 Model A Roadster. This body started out as a sport coupe. The engine is a 1934 Ford Flathead with 40,000 original miles. The transmission is a 1951 Ford panel truck top loader, open drive-line transmission. The rear end is a 9-inch Ford with a 3:70 gear ratio. The motor, transmission, and rear end are in excellent shape and make no noises. It has a brand-new frame that is approximately 12 inches longer than a stock Model-A frame and all new suspension. The rear suspension has a new rear cross-member that sits on top of the frame, and a new spring kit.

It has a new tube shock kit and new shocks. It has all new four-bar link rear trailing arms with the trailing link to the rear pumpkin. This little rod has all-new brake cylinders and a new 1940 Ford-style master cylinder, with all new brake lines throughout. It has a 1939 Ford pedal assembly with custom brackets. It has a brand new custom driveline with new U-joints, the front end is a 4-inch dropped axle with 1937 Ford spindles and 1937 Ford style brakes drums and wheels. It has the four-bar front suspension with tube shocks. It has the cross-steering with a new half rack steering gear which works nicely. This rod has a Hyme Joint on the steering shaft. It also has a new cross-member and new front spring.

This car has also been completely rewired; all the lights work, including brake lights and ammeter. The rod has been 12-volted and has a new battery and cables.

It has a 10-gallon moon tank in the trunk. It has all-new body mounts, new Walker radiator made for the Flathead, and a new electric 12-inch fan. The old Flathead motor just purrs with original 97 carburetor, new belts, and rebuilt water pumps. It has a new custom-made exhaust with loud side pipes, which sounds very cool. The carburetor and distributor have been restored, with new plugs, new plug wires, and all new radiator hoses. It does not get hot.

This rod has 16-inch 1940 Ford rear wheels, with new 215/85/16 radial tires. The fronts are original 1937 Ford wheels with bias ply white wall tires and beauty rings on all four wheels.

It has 1940 Ford truck front headlights with a modified headlight bar. It has the original seat with new 50's old style seat cover. The aluminum floor is custom-made with custom throttle. The windshield has been bent back and a new tinted windshield installed.

As you can see, this is a 1950's style high-boy roadster. The old body is in pretty good shape, still showing some original paint. We just finished this hot rod this summer and took laps around town. This '29 will definitely turn some heads! As you have read in the description, this rod is pretty much brand new underneath; I spent some money on it.

This little rod has some nice patina factor, runs and drives good, and doesn't do anything funny. Thanks for looking and give me a call for any other information, because we built it. Call Jack at (208) 888-1240, (208) 870-7260 (US Mountain Standard Time).
