Description of 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger

NO RESERVE!!! CLEAN OREGON TITLE!! DRIVE IT HOME!! THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN NEW PARTS!!! EXCELLENT CLASSIC TRUCK!! SHOP TRUCK - RAT ROD - TOW RIG
1978 Ford F-150 Ranger SuperCab Long Bed Classic Pickup. Very good condition for the age! Runs, drives and stops really well. This truck was built with towing in mind. A low mile 1974 F-350 in excellent mechanical shape was used as a donor truck. All the factory mounts and brackets were used to convert the 400M manual trans drive train to a 390 4-Barrel with heavy duty manual transmission. The almost new heavy duty power steering pump along with the cooler, heavy duty brake booster and master cylinder and desert radiator were all used.. All the best parts from the F-350 were used in this build. Most all the parts have been rebuilt before installation. Here's a list of most the items....Engine -1974 low mile standard bore standard crankshaft truck block in excellent condition.New rings, bearings, oil pump timing chain and gears, Comp Cam High Energy 468/468 lift Cam and lifters, Fel Pro Gaskets, Pertronix electronic ignition, distributor cap, rotor, wires, plugs, water pump, fuel pump, freeze plugs, valve covers, air cleaner, fluids, belts and hoses.Cylinder Heads - unleaded has valve seats installed, new valve springs, positive seals, valve grind and surfaced.1966 S 4V IntakeHolley 3310-2 750 vacuum secondary 4 barrel carb rebuiltNew Hooker Competition HeadersLow mile Transmission was taken apart, inspected for any major issues, re-assembled and resealed.New U-JointsMany new grade 8 fasteners, new clamps, clips and whatnot throughout the build.Body is in great condition for the year. Very minimal rust...small amount in floor pan (treated) and a small amount in right rear lower quarter. The vent/cowl area is excellent as well as the window areas. The bed is really straight and still holds water!!! Very nice patina paint!! All glass was removed, cleaned and new seals?gaskets installed. Door glass, vent glass, super cab class and rear glass all tinted same shade. Looks fantastic!! Windows go up and down freely! The dash was disassembled for the most part, cleaned and re-assembled. Everything works except a couple dash lights. The temp gauge is not hooked up due to installing mechanical gauge. Just add the sending unit if you want both gauges.New weatherstrip and window seals were installed in the doors and cab windows.New window tint on all windows except windshield.New wiper bladesInterior is in excellent condition for the age! Looks very nice. Many items replaced or rebuilt.New Heater CoreHeater assembly disassembled and cleaned up/rebuilt.New sound deadenerNew CarpetNew CD Player/Stereo and SpeakersNew GaugesI have replaced, repaired or rebuilt most of this truck front to back to make sure it was a sound rig to run around in. It drives nice, has a little freeplay in steering, but really drives nice. All the exterior lighting works. The only items I think need addressed are...Auxiliary gas tank needs cleaned/replaced....doesn't work at this point.New trailer plug needs wiredA couple dash lights don't work..Has clean Oregon title, expired Oregon tags.I'm pretty sure that's about the extent of it. I tried to cover all the good and bad Best I can. Feel free to come by for a test drive. Great classic truck for daily driving or restoration. Fly in drive it home!!
