Description of 1972 Ford F-100 Stepside

1972 Ford F-100 Custom, Long Wheel Base, rare step side Pick up truck, 302 CI V-8 engine with 2 barrel carburetor and automatic transmission that shifts perfectly. Drives and rides good. Has not gone past 50 mile radius in at least 10 years. Well taken care of but not kept in garage. No air conditioner, no power steering and no power brakes but steers and stops easily. Drum brakes all the way around, recently replaced. All tires fairly new and match. Painted John Deer Green and trimmed in yellow but paint is faded and cracked in some areas. Heavy duty steel farm rear bumper engraved by original dealer. Minor rust in the usual areas bottom of door and back of front fenders on the bottom where they meet the door. Cab is tight and free of wind noise for age. Chrome around headlamp on driver's side slightly bent. Engine and under hood needs pressure washing. New yellow vinyl seat cover. In-dash radio works but not original. No broken or cracked glass. Bottom of bed has been replaced with steel sheet metal. Steering wheel horn assembly off but available. Everything works on it. Odometer is not visible due to faded clear plastic but is not the original dashboard unit anyway. Mileage unknown. Cranks and runs great, does not smoke, leak or knock. No known accidents or other damage. Same owner for the last 10 years. Driven on occasion locally by elderly man for local community events, parades, hayrides and other events but he is no longer able to participate. Licensed in Mississippi as an Antique vehicle. Title in hand.
This is not a show vehicle by any stretch of the imagination. But it has turned many heads in local country events like Watermelon festivals, Pumpkin shows and Christmas Tree sales. There have been many positive comments about the paint scheme. Has been driven around town about every other week or so. Very dependable, never failing to start. Would make a great truck for a man over 45 (age of truck) who misses that country life, a little nostalgia and doesn't want to spend a fortune. These trucks typically sell for $5 to $20 thousand dollars depending on condition from fair to excellent. Step-sides are much harder to find. I would rate this truck from the middle to high end of "good" condition.
