Description of 1957 Ford Thunderbird

This is a 1985 turn-key custom-built fiberglass replica of the venerable 1957 Ford Thunderbird. It was built by Dofral Industries and sold under the model name "Classic T" as a kit or as a factory-built car on a customer-supplied suspension and drive train. This is a factory-built turn-key car. This car features a 302ci Mustang engine. dual exhaust. 3-speeed automatic. air conditioning and a removable hardtop. It has two bucket seats. Dofral Industries went out of business in 1985 and their jigs and molds were sold to Regal Roasters. makers of today's "Regal T-Bird" kit and turnkey car. Regal currently sells the kit for ~$17k and the turn-key car on your suspension and drivetrain for ~$68k. That makes this complete running car. which is essentially the same car. a real deal. this car has plexiglass door windows (tinted) and hard-top rear window (new. clear) where the Regal has glass is the major difference I know of. The windshield is new glass. This car will sell for less than the cost of comparable kit parts alone and give you a look that is indistinguishable from the oiginal to all but knowledgeable eyes. with a body that will never rust and a modern drive train! It is registered and insured in Alabama as a 1957 Thunderbird. I have a Bill of Sale and the registration for the current Vintage Car tag. This car being fiberglass will never rust as the original Thunderbirds are so prone to do. It gives you the look and classic styling of one of the most highly-desired classic cars with the ride and safety of a modern car at about half the cost of an original in this condition. Everyone who has seen it believes it to be an original and is surprised to learn that it is a replicar. This car has only 13. 43 miles since the 1985 build. I do not have any idea how many miles were on the suspension parts or engine used for the build. It has been in a private collection since built. The original owner sold it to Streetscape. a Trussville Alabama classic car restorer. and I bought it from them. Streetscape replaced the windshield and I have replaced the complete brake system - power brake booster. master cylinder. some brake lines. new disks and drums and brake hardware. I (actually Chalkville Automotive. not me personally) have replaced the upper control arm bushings and ball joints. drive shaft U-joints. shock absorbers. chrome windshield wiper arms. a new trunk lock mechanism and more. So far everything I have bought from 1957 Thunderbird parts catalogs has fit this car. so it is very similar. It is mechanically sound and a dependable daily driver that can also be a show car. I have all of the original build documentation and receipts for all repairs. This car rides on 14" chrome Bullit wheels with removable wire baskets. The tires look to be almost new with full tread. Payment is cash or bank wire transfer. I will take a personal check but will not transfer registration until your check clears. Frankly if you can write a check you can pay cash. and that is my preference. That eliminates trust issues! The car is sold as-is where-is and the buyer will pay all shipping cost from my driveway in US Zip Code 35210 to anywhere in the world. Potential buyers can choose any central Alabama inspector and I will take it for inspection at the buyers expense. I was at World of Wheels earlier today and am tempted to double the price. Cars no better than this are selling for much more. PLEASE don't bid unless you intend to buy it! This car was listed and sold three weeks ago to eBay member 'usedcarcharlie' but he never paid his deposit or answered any emails. That is pointless. it wastes everyone's time and eBay will hold it against you!
