Description of 1955 Ford Fairlane Courier

1955 FORD COURIER FIRE CHIEF'S CARORIGINAL 272-2V FACTORY 3-SPEEDTEXAS TITLE MATCHES VIN PLATEAll Original and Complete. Limited Production 1955 Courier with Original Fire Chief's Car Conversion. Originally served with Fire Chief in small southeast Texas town. Bought and cosmetically restored (painted) by Fire Chief after both Car and Chief retired. Believed to be 34. 00 original miles. as shown (speedo works). Great Driver. very decent to drive "as is". Great for parades (the kids LOVE the sirens!). Interior was upgraded during "restoration" from a minimalist interior to nicer seat covers (original leatherette underneath). add-on electric windows (I'd remove) and carpet that are more comfortable. Older WSW tires and Deluxe Wire Wheel Covers were added. Converted to 12 volt to better run lights and radios. Original 272-2V runs Good. Holley 2V Carburetor recently rebuilt. Transmission Good. pressure plate getting weak but shifts OK. New 6-blade fan added for low-speed driving in parades. Everything works except for Roof-mounted Flashing Lights. Manual Spotlight (bulbs?). and Fuel Gauge (needs Sender). Unfortunately. I haven't found the time to work it all out. Original Heater/Defroster delete. inside rear-view mirror delete. passenger side sunvisor delete. Windshield and all glass Good. Minor rust with two 2" patches in front floor but otherwise a virtually rust-free body and chassis due to undercoating (except for typical rust in front crossmember. used replacement included). Some Bondo on driver's side from a minor side scrape (should have been an easy proper fix). a few small bubbles in paint. Very Restorable. Torch Red (R-code). Very Good Original Chrome. Clear TX Title in my name that matches the VIN plate number. Sold as is. where is. Shipping for additional fee in enclosed trailer within 600 miles upon request. Additional NOS and good used OEM Ford parts for all necessary repairs available to buyer for reasonable price upon request.
