Description of 1971 Ford Torino

This unique Torino was built by a NASCAR shop for shows like SEMA and other promotions. I call it a “Modern classic stock car” as the Torino was a winning shape in the glory days of NASCAR. The quality of the paint and bodywork are just amazing. I’ve owned a lot of cars as a hobbyist and this is the finest I’ve ever seen. It has perfect panel gaps. flawless paint. and is professionally built. Exterior: I can’t find any welds. nbsp;seams. or patches anywhere so I think they started with a perfect rust-free car. It was an ordinary 351 old lady car when new. The bumper bolts have been eliminated and all chrome is now gray. The black masking on top is a decal. It must have been installed in a dust-free paint booth because it’s absolutely flawless without a single bubble. The wheels are believed to be Coy’s with “Ford” centers. I am not aware of any other body mods. Interior: Very nice and comfortable Black buckets. perfect Black dash pad with Gray stitching. White face gauges and some aftermarket gauges tastefully added. No radio. No A/C. Everything works. Engine: 1971 Lincoln 429 with Edelbrock Performer 460 intake. Carter AFB Competition Series carb. Pertronix Billet distributor with electronic ignition and Pertronix coil. Dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Sounds authoritative without being obnoxious. Horsepower and torque specifications are unknown but tire-burning power is plentiful! (Any more power and you’d have to tub the car for wider tires. ) Some Pro-Touring components are present: The car has power steering and front disc brakes and sway bar. The rear axle is a 9” with approximately 3. 50 open gears and is mounted with a 4-bar setup and QA1 adjustable coil-overs. It has a C6 automatic and B&M shifter. It runs and drives as good as it looks with no issues and stays cool in traffic. You will not be disappointed!A note about the price: This auction starts at a realistic $27. 00 with no reserve after that. I cannot take a trade and the car will not be sold for any less than $27. 00 for any reason. Calls and e-mail questions will be cheerfully answered but price will not be discussed - if interested you must bid to win. Matt Ferrary (H) 540-254-1698
