Description of 1963 Ford Thunderbird

this car is a 63 thunderbird. has the swing away wheel. the motor. trans. and rear end was all overhauled a few years ago by the former owner. but just a few 1000 miles ago. when he did that. he put in new carb. starter. alt. water pump. and other parts. he put in new headliner. door panels. carpet. the dash needs a new pad it has several cracks. now it just has a fabric cover over it. the after market radio in it does not work. I have the original radio. but do not know if it works. when I bought it. was told it works. but have not had it hooked up. the seams on the driver side seat bottom are coming apart. but I have a new cover and foam to replace that. the passenger side is just starting to do the same. but still looks good. the former owner had the rear bumper. and the parts around the tails chromed. he said that cost almost a 1000$. this car runs and drives just right. power steering. and brakes. a couple months ago. we took it to our mechanic. and had the air all done over. had new controls put in on the dash. we spent almost a 1000$ there. I received the car with 15" new tires all around. but with those could not get the skirts on. I purchase a set of 14" rims. and 2 new tires for them. bought a full set of 14" spinner caps. but just have 2 on the back. had to buy 67 spinners for the front. I think they look good that way. the skirts cover most of the rear ones. we also had a set of new skirt rubber put on them. I have extra parts for the car. all of the missing inserts for the emblems. that are new. have another grill. never even took it out of the box. it has a new trunk liner . I have been noticing that when sitting still and you turn the wheel. you hear a sound. my mechanic says it is a bearing at the end of the steering column. with a little play. the car drives good down the highway. no play in the steering. rides better than any car I have. the windows go up and down right. there is a little scratch on the front and rear window. something you probably would not notice unless you know it's there. you can tell it was caused by an ice scrapper. the paint has no door dings or scrapes. the former owner said the passenger floor was weak from a heater core leaking. and he patched that. I am sure the car has had some rust repair over the 52 years of it's life. just put a new battery in it a couple months ago. not the cheap one. but more than a 100$. I am sure there are plenty to ask. I am no mechanic. but I will answer the best I can. this car is in a town in okla. called Ripley. have to have a 500. 00$ non-refundable deposit in 48 hours after auction. and the balance in 5 days.
