Description of 1931 Ford Model A Pickup

The 1931 Ford Model A open-cab pickup (76-B) is one we love to see because it combined the comfort of Ford's main sedan with truck usability. Today that diverse spirit lives in this exceptionally well restored example that would be an attraction at any vintage car show, truck show, or even parade. The bold red paint looks great with the black fenders and black accent lines. This nice glossy finish looks very period-correct. It's part of a careful... restoration that made sure you have a great standout package no matter if it's in the car show sunlight or indoors in your garage. While the pickup was one of the most utilitarian of the Model As, it did come with dual fender-mounted spare wire wheels â€" which was usually reserved for the Deluxe Ford models. We also love this Model A because it showcases the older style craftsmanship in places like the wooden bed rails. Above all else, you're going to enjoy this pickup because it receives the right investments. So the doors close snugly, it has a nicely aligned hood, and it just feels sturdy like a pre-WWII Ford should. There's just something extra cool about an open-top pickup. While the tan roof looks good and fits nicely, we bet you'll be spending most of your time open to the world. No matter how you choose to motor, stepping inside this Ford will always feel like a time machine to 1931. That's because all the major components feel correct, and the restored bench seat feels comfortable. Plus, there's no better feeling out there than grabbing an older four-spoke steering wheel and the sensation of having history literally in your hands. You even have the right details like the side wind deflectors and a flip-up windshield for extra ventilation. But even with all these period-correct pieces, you also have some thoughtful but subtle upgrades. This includes the pockets in the door panels and the SunPro engine temperature gauge. All Model As, even the trucks, got the same torquey 201 cubic inch four-cylinder engine. Which means maintenance is easier than you would think on an 85+ year-old pickup. In fact, as you look closer, you'll discover some great upgrades like the modern alternator, distributor, and coolant tank. The belt, wires, and hoses appear well maintained. But you also get all the right original-style piece like the big green block and gravity-fed Stromberg carburetor. So it's the perfect mix that can lead the parade route and show off the engine at the end. The three-speed manual transmission is light and easy to master with a quick double-clutch, and the four-wheel mechanical brakes are surprisingly effective given the Model A's light weight. This Model A convertible truck has been under the same care for over a quarter-century, and the high level of restoration tells you it has been loved that whole time. If you've wanted a 1930s pickup that was ready to impress on day one, this is it. So don't let this opportunity pass you by. Call now!
