Description of 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe

This is my 1966 Mustang Coupe. It is fully rebuilt. It took over 3 years and it is finally finished last month. I have been driving it pretty much everyday, and it is running perfectly.

The car was originally a 6 cylinder coupe. I have completely stripped the car out, removed any rust on the bottom of the car, and put on rust preventative coating.

The engine is a brand new custom built ford small block 302 by Phoenix Engine, I have the complete invoice with all the parts they put in the engine. It has MSD ignition, and a Holley double bumper carburetor. It is paired up with hooker long tube headers, that connects to an electric cut off valve. So with a flip of the switch on the interior, you can switch the exhaust to open header to show off the American Muscle sound. The mufflers on the car is the original 1965 Shelby GT350 side pipe exhaust system.

The engine is making over 320 HP, and over 330 ft-lbs of torque with lots of low end torque. It spins the tire easily.

The transmission is a brand new Tremec T5 World Class 5 speed manual gear box from CJ Pony Parts. The lower gears give it very fast acceleration, and the overdrive saves a lot of fuel on the freeway.

The chassis of the car is stiffened up with welded subframe connector that connects the front and the rear subframes, and also the welded roll bars on the interior.

The front of the suspension is all new OEM arms with Total Control Product coilovers, and a beefier 67, 68 Mustang spindle to fit the Wilwood 4 piston disc brake kit. It also sets the perfect 1.5 degree negative camber. All the suspension bushings are replaced with polyurethaning bushings. There is also a beefy sway bar in the front.

The rear suspension has a lowered leaf spring and a 1 inch lowering bock, that sets the ride height perfectly. The axle is a 8 inch rear end with 3.55 gears and limited slip differential. The axle is connected to the chassis with welded traction bars to prevent any wheel hop and provide much better handling. Rear end also has disc brakes conversion with fully functional emergency brakes.

The steering box is a new high performance 16:1 ratio manual steering box. All 4 disc brakes are powered by a wildwood master cylinder with all new custom brake lines. With the rear brake bias valve. You can set how much braking power you want to distribute to the rear brakes.

The fuel tank in the car is all new, with all new fuel lines. Fuel is sent by a brand new Holley red fuel pump.

The battery in the car is a optima red top battery, it is mounted in the trunk, and connected with a safety cut off switch on the rear next to the brake light.

Interior is fully redone, everything is brand new. All the gauges work and light up. All the interior lights work. It has a welded roll cage, and racing seats and harness for safety. Under the dash, there are a few switches. on the left of the steering wheel, there is a switch for the fuel pump, and the switch for the rear brake bias. On the right of the steering wheel, there are two switches for the electric exhaust cut off valves.

There are also there additional gauges mounted on the dash, RPM gauge, water temp, and oil pressure gauge.

The headlight and the brake lights all work perfectly. High beam switch is also working.

I have invested so much time and money in the underbody, chassis and the performance of the car, that I decided to leave the paint alone. The previous owner have repainted the car over 20 years ago. The paint has chips and cracks here and there, but once I polished it up, it looks pretty good from 10 feet away.

It is an amazing car, both as a show car and a race car. I am not in a hurry to get rid of it, because I love it so much. But I do need to eventually sell it because I have too many cars and not enough space.

Asking price is $42,000 (barely enough to cover what I have spent building it), obo. NO low ballers. Not in a hurry to sell.
