Description for Ford Mustang 1968

I'm selling my 1968 Mustang Coupe.
Do not let the Survivor Paint fool you !This is a good car, not a rusty piece of junk.If you would like to have a local mechanic, shop or Ford expert go over it with a 40 point inspection, that can be arranged anytime.
This is a very solid carLooks good, runs good and many upgraded new features with a survivor look.
--> Clear Texas Title
I intentionally kept it looking as original (Survivor) as possible and love the surface patina and looks it gets.
She may not be shiny, but you can take your wife out to dinner and not worry about a $10k paint job getting scratched.
Taking it to a car show is fun, because (YES) you can touch it, if you've had your tetanus shot.
Mechanical Details:
This car has a newer generation 5.0L (1995 I was told) that was upgraded (rebuilt) with Aluminum Pistons, AFR 1472 aluminum heads, Wolverine 1087 cam, roller rockers and a new Edelbrock 4bbl carb and new aluminum intake.
New aluminum radiator
New distributor & MSD ign
New Gas Tank and New (in tank) fuel pump
Rack-N-Pinion Power Steering
New 4-Wheel Disc Brakes, Power Booster and MC. (They work great)
Full length headers. (Sound Amazing and Flow great with the AFR Heads)
Brand New Dual Exhaust (Magnaflow) Complete exhaust replaced.
Overdrive AOD automatic transmission connected to original floor shifter.
Starts easy, idles great, runs and shifts like a bat out of hades.
Sounds Amazing - Very powerful idle with lots of thump !Not super loud but you can feel the compression - sounds great for a Ford. (I'm a Mopar guy so...)
Torque Converter matches the aggressive Wolverine 1087 CAMIdles great when car is in drive and foot on the brake (stopped)Does not die at stop light like many poorly matched rebuilds do.
All lights and turn signals work.Heater works - Brand new heater motor, fan and heater core.New hoses and belts.New gas tank.
No rust. When I got this car, I inspected itthoroughly (up and down - inside and out) and only found a smallspot of rust on the lower passenger door corner. I replaced it (welded in) new metal and primed it.
New floor pans welded in right. While at it, previous owner welded in a brand new OEM floor pan cross brace from a convertible mustang to sturdy up the frame/floor.Original Mustang Part and looks factory.
No rust in trunk.
Doors open/close good
Windows roll up/down good
Hood opens/closes good
Custom Wheels / Tires
A few old dents and dings here and there but that just experience that comes with the original (Survivor) paint and many can be popped out by the Paintless Dent Repair guys.
New Mustang carpet kit with thick jute padding.
Having said all that, it is an old car and old cars need things from time to time, things break, come loose and leak.Right now, this car needs needs nothing major that I am aware of...I drive it every day and it does not leak, break down, overheat or cause problems. However it might tomorrow :). That's just old cars.
Needs dash pad, new seat covers, a few trim pieces, rear shelf panel, etc...Also needs a new battery, but I'll buy one for the new owner and install it on its way out the door.
This old car is located in Denison, Texas (1 hour North of Dallas). It is for sale locally and I may end the auction early if sold.
If you would like to come see the car & test drive it, contact me through Ebay.
Repeat: If you would like to have a local mechanic, shop or Ford expert inspect it, that can be arranged anytime.
This car is a driver and is ready to go !
