Description of 1970 Ford F-250 Highboy

Coming up on a half century of faithful service, this 1970 Ford F-250 Highboy is running strong and looking great. It's evidence on wheels that the words "Built Ford Tough" meant something long before the slogan was memorialized in commercials, and it stands ready to hit the road and provide chapters of future memories - whether that road may be a paved highway or one that's only accessed by a spontaneous veering off onto the rough terrain of a path... less traveled. This is just a flat out sharp looking vintage truck. It's red paint produces an appealing shine to add to an already vital appearance. The bumpers in both front and back have been re-chromed and look great, showing no blemishes and sitting nice and level. Up front, the grille is especially clean and straight, while in back the Ford lettering on the lift gate really pops against its dark background that's surrounded by the shiny, red paint. You'll find clear glass surrounding the cabin, with the rear windshield sporting what appears to be a fairly recently installed rubber seal to keep the elements out. This rugged truck has weathered the decades well and features a reassuringly straight body alignment - take a lap around it and you'll see right away how well the front-end blends into the cabin before transitioning to the bed in back. It's got all the vintage charm and good looks you could want in a truck, combined with a level of dependable drivability that's hard to come by. The refurbished interior is a definite strong suit and provides a great vantage point from which to navigate this classic, whether your journeys take you through city streets, highways or more rugged paths. The bench seat has been re-upholstered in red vinyl that's still got a fresh appearance and sports plenty of padding for comfort as its sits over an expanse of matching carpeting with plenty of life left. Both the shifter for the manual transmission, as well as the control to engage the four-wheel drive capability, sit within easy reach and as you look just beyond the stock steering wheel, you'll find a dash area that's still sporting its factory appearance, with a set of easily readable gauges in its cluster and a new-looking dash pad across the top. The trio of aftermarket gauges sitting in their chrome bezel just underneath the original AM radio represents about the only deviation from stock you'll find in this great vintage environment. The bed area in back features a spray on liner for protection and shows no serious scuffs or mishaps. While not the original engine, the 351 Windsor V8 under the hood has powered countless Ford trucks over the years, and for good reason - it's a rock-solid, dependable powerplant. It also looks great in this setting, dressed up with a chrome air cleaner and chrome valve covers as it sits in the spruced-up engine compartment and offers just the right deep rumbling exhaust note out of its Flowmaster dual exhaust that you'd want in a rugged pickup like this. Despite the obvious temptation to venture into unforgiving territory that this able, sure-footed F-250 presents with its 4-wheel drive capabilities, a feature that itself is functioning in good order, the undercarriage appears nice and straight, showing no issues and carrying a layer of undercoating for protection. Power brakes bring this classic truck to a stop with very little effort as it rolls on its set of 16" steel wheels wrapped with Coker Condor Superlug all-terrain tires. The unmistakable look and vibe of a classic Ford pickup with a very solid running condition that'll have you eager to get behind the wheel and explore - this 1970 Ford Highboy is a must see!
