Description of 1969 Ford Galaxie XL

Here we have an extremely rare, 1969 Ford XL Convertible. This muscle monster was factory equipped with a 429, 4-speed trans (1 of 113), power windows, power door locks, power disc brakes (HD suspension pkg), power steering, power top, am/fm radio, rim blow wheel, and a 3.25 Traction Lock rear. Photo of Marti report included in listing. The body is amazingly rust free including floors, fenders, quarters, trunk and convertible well. The body is very straight with some minor areas of filler detected. The hood has slight bends at the back corners (was obviously stored standing up) and a small indentation toward the front of the hood. The car appears very original and untouched for the most part (all vacuum equip for working headlight doors, and chalk marks on firewall). 1970's era tachometer, 8-track player and alarm system add to the nostalgia vibe. The car has not been registered since 2006 and spent many years sitting in a body shop that disassembled part of the car, started some body work and unfortunately let it sit for years (inside). This led to a few pieces of trim to come up missing (tail panel trim, trim around rear of convertible top and wheel well moldings). The car was then transported to the previous owners home to sit on blocks in a carport here in Phoenix for a few more years. This car was factory equipped in a gorgeous Gulfstream Aqua with a white top and interior. You can see the original paint on the hood and other areas of the car. The car runs great and drives fine. The top needs replaced but bows are excellent. The top functions but the power rams do leak a little. Obviously a full restoration would be warranted on this beauty and is a fantastic start with the body condition. I have no time to work on this classic any longer and needs a deserving home with the proper Ford enthusiast. Please message me with any additional questions as I am happy to respond.
