Description of 1987 Ford Mustang GT

You are bidding on a 1987 Ford GTMustang Convertible 5.0L as pictured. The car has beenowned by non smokers so there is no smell of cigarette smoke in this car. This vehicle was purchased a long time ago by my father-in-law from a family friend in Michigan. There is no rust on this vehicle!! It has been stored in a garage in winter and wasNEVER evendriven in the rain as long as this vehicle has been in the family. Unfortunately, we are not able to drive this as much as we would like with raising a family. It needs to be driven and we just aren't able to store it anymore. I've driven it to work on numerous occasions and it runs great!!

Everything on the car is originalincluding the wheels. The transmission was rebuilt & the torque converter was replacedin September/2013.It has power windows, power locks & power convertible top. I will add a picture of the original sticker with additional photos of the carafter I list it. We also used a car cover when in storage which will be included in the sale(not pictured)

The only problems I have noticed are:

  • Air conditioning is not working which was never an issue for us since it is an convertible.
  • The horn went off in the middle of the night in our garageso I pulled the fuse out to stop it(with the fuse pulled the cigarette lighter doesn't work as well). A mechanic told me it is probably just a simple wiring issue.
  • The rear window on the drivers side gets stuck when you put it down. If you just pull on it with your hand while pushing the button it will go right back up.
  • The car locks but for some reason the key will not open the door on the drivers side. You have to unlock it on the passengers side and then use the power locks to open.
  • There are some scratches and a few minor dings but this is the original paint job from 1987...just normal wear & tear.
  • I'm sure the majority of these problems I listed can be easily fixed by a good mechanic. This car is in great shape....my father-in-law took better care of all of his cars than anyone I've ever known. 30,167 actual miles!! It is a beautiful car!
