Description of 1965 Ford Mustang PONY

THIS 1965 MUSTANG HAS LOTS OF GOOD STUFF! Shinny bright red paint, red and white Pony seat covers, built up V8 engine, automatic transmission, disc brakes front, power steering, custom gauges, new American Racing wheels, headers and dual exhaust with a rumble. HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK! TURN SIGNALS WORK! BRAKE LIGHTS WORK! DASH LIGHTS WORK! PIONEER CD AM/FM RADIO! CUSTOM GAUGES WORK! TACHOMETER WORKS! WIPERS WORK! HEATER BLOWER WORKS! HORN NOT WORKING, I WILL CHECK IT TOMORROW!

Pioneer radio and CD work with... speakers in the rear window package tray area. GAUGE CLUSTER is after market by MP. All the gauges work, tachometer works. I will not guarantee you the gauges or exact, but they do work. HOW IS THE PAINT JOB? The bright read paint looks real good, its not a perfect $20,000 job to haul to the show in a trailer, but it looks plenty good to enter the show. The body is straight when I look down the sides, I see no dents or dings and no rust bubbles. I do see a couple touched up chips if I look with a critical eye. The shine is very good, I polished and waxed with a good synthetic wax, its suppose to last 5 times longer than regular wax. The paint is enamel, if you don't wax and park the car outside it will get dry, "keep it waxed". HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Pony seat covers look like new, door panels great, carpet old, but usable, dash pad decent, past owner did a shade tree job putting it on if you inspect close, headliner is very nice, car does have old car smell and the smell of air fresheners, I will put my ozone machine in and clean the carpet. HOW IS THE ENGINE? Car was born with a 289 cubic inch with a 4 barrel carburetor, thats the A code in the VIN. Past owner said it was replaced with a rebuilt engine, it is a perfect fit, I did not check date codes. The engine runs very strong and has a mild cam, dual point distributor and headers. I hear no knocks or rattles, it starts good, I see no blue smoke, no bad oil leaks, but I will not guarantee you it wand leave a drop on your clean floor. There is a good chance this a is a 302 engine, it does not have a mechanical fuel pump, the electric pump is in the trunk, I can hear it, but its not bad loud like some. The engine is a good one! HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? Its a C4 automatic, its one of the early green dot shift patterns. The green dot was a sales gimmick, in the green dot its suppose to skip a shift, I guess for fuel mileage. The transmission is a good one! HOW DOES THE EXHAUST SOUND? I like the loud deep rumble Muscle Car sound. Mufflers and tail pipes are new, mufflers are Thrush, they sound a lot like Flow Masters. The headers are full tubes, not coated. HOW IS THE CHROME? Bumpers look new, vent window trim better than most (not pitted and rusty). Door handles are nice, emblems OK and Pony in grill very good. HOW IS THE GLASS? Side windows roll up and down good, no milky spots or chips in the glass, the windshield is clear with no wiper marks. HOW ARE THE TIRES? New! HOW ARE THE WHEELS? New American Racing 15 inch Torque Thrust D wheels. HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? It is power steering, it drives good or as good as a 1965 Mustang drives. HOW ARE THE BRAKES? Disc brakes added to the front, the car stops good, a power booster has been added, it works good, but they do have a different fell. HOW IS THE BOTTOM SIDE AND BODY? The drivers side quarter panel has been replaced, they did a good job. The floors look original, I see a patch on the drivers toe board, it is metal, maybe a couple of other small patches in years past, floor has some under coating so it had to say for sure, sub frames look good with no holes that I see, under the trunk mat I see no rusty holes, but some crusty surface scale/rust, no structural issues, its just not beautiful on the bottom if you jack it up.

WHERE IS THE CAR LOCATED? Athens, Tennessee 37303. BOTTOM LINE: I consider this a upper end driver, its not a perfect 100 point trailer queen. Please come look and be happy, if you drive a long distance make a small deposit. I will not hold the car with out a small deposit, I will refund the deposit if you don't like the car. If you don't come inspect don"t be a car baby. This is a very good looking car, things work and it runs, drives and stops good.
