Description of 1956 Ford Fairlane

1956 Ford Fairlane 2dr Club Sedan - 292 Y block V8 engine - Three speed automatic transmission - Dual exhaust - Lowered front coil springs - New front tires - Rear tires are good - Front and rear seats were reupholstered several years back - Nice dash and gauges - 1955 hood - Nosed - Decked - All emblems were removed - Garaged for the last 30 years - Car cover included - Registered with clear title This cool old Ford was a reliable driver until a few years back. when it developed a noise in the bottom of the motor - It sounds like it might be a rod bearing - It hasn't been driven or started since - Everything worked on the car at that time - I intended to pull the engine and repair the problem but I now realize that I'm never going to get to it. and I could use the garage space - The paint is fair and there are primer spots where the emblems were removed - The bumpers and grill are decent but not perfect - The body side trim is excellent - There is some rust in the bottom of the right hand door and a couple of very small bubbles under the paint elsewhere on the car. all of which could be fixed easily - I crawled under the car and the floors and rockers appear to have no rust or repairs - There are no rust holes in the trunk either - There is a bit of surface rust in the bottom of the spare tire well. but no rust through - The upholstery shop lost the rear armrests - The headliner is original and could stand to be replaced - The fabric welting around the doors needs replacing also - The heater core is bypassed so I assume it needs to be replaced I went into detail about what the car needs - On the positive side it's a really cool. solid driver with great patina - Just fix the engine and it should be ready to go - While it is far from a show car it is a fun car to take to car shows - People love it - In my opinion the 56 two door sedan with this side trim is one of the best looking Fords ever built - If you have any questions please use the "ask a question' feature in the auction listing and I will answer as soon as possible - If you would like to view the car it can be arranged - Thank you Search words: 1932 1933 1934 1935 1936 1937 1938 1939 1940 1950 1955 1956 1957 coupe deuce roadster cabriolet tudor flathead tripower hemi 312 327 427 454 428 383 390 426 440 331 392 354 302 350 400 455 442 88 chevelle camaro el camino ss rs copo cheyenne super stepside c10 cuda challenger superbee blazer bronco T5 T10 phaeton touring charger dart demon duster gs buick gto lemans duty drag nostalgia show magazine history chop chopped nosed decked sectioned custom kustom Barris Winfield Moal Ring Foose Von Dutch rat rod rockabilly traditional hydraulics dayton steelies wide whites reversed narrowed dropped slammed cheater slickes spots corvette split window Goodguys award winner AMBR ISCA cobra mustang fe gt350 gt500 convertible torino talladega 500 daytona superbird roadrunner magnum rt se shaker ram air ramair pack toploader m21 m22 muncie bolt posi locker detroit American Halibrand mag spoke slick axle Hurst blower blown pro street hotrod lowered lowrider spindles fastback louvered shaved molded trophy restored et gasser shoebox sled leadsled slammed bagged frame falcon ranchero pontiac buick plymouth willys amc rebel machine amx gremlin pacer dodge chrysler ford tbird thunderbird mercury marauder cyclone couger gt grand national monte carlo f100 big window cab crown victoria galaxie sunliner starliner lightweight thunderbolt futura bubbletop impala bonneville scta muroc tri five hardtop biscayne 210 handyman nomad station wagon woodie woody surf panel delivery dual quad candy apple ppg nascar IHRA NHRA spring midget vintage race low miles one original owner survivor clone tribute concourse west coast socal henry steel billet turbo headers flowmaster
