Don't let this one get away... she's a special car and one you won't be able to replace.

I'm proud to offer this amazing 2-owner 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL two-door hardtop fastback. This was the first venture by Ford into Fastback territory, and they hit it out of the park. It is an amazing and beautiful car in all respects, and turns heads like no other car I've ever owned... people have a natural affinity towards this car, young and old alike. Ford designed it to look like a Convertible with the top up, and they nailed it.

The car has been loved and well cared for since new, and it shows... rust free, not a pinhole to be found anywhere as far as I can see. She was always been a fair-weather cruiser, and has been garaged when not in use. This car was and is loved and it shows.

The nearly perfect two-tone interior upholstery is beautiful, featuring the original 500 XL -only bucket seats and center console, with matching rear seat and additional XL bright work. The interior chrome and stainless trim are truly outstanding; just look at how nice the seat trim, dash embellishments, and other bright work appear! The gauge cluster, steering wheel, door panels, headliner, sun visors, carpet, etc. are all remain great condition; as nice as I've ever seen. The courtesy sail panel lights work, door courtesy lights, map light, etc. The interior is just gorgeous, as you can see.

The bodywork is extremely straight, with excellent panel alignment and no noticeable collision or other heavy damage, only minor dings and scratches. The paint appears original with minor touch-ups; think, very shiny, very pretty. It suits the car perfectly in my opinion. The front and rear chrome bumpers are extremely nice, the front grill just about perfect, side trim excellent, tail light chrome and trim great, etc. The car is in great condition everywhere you look, with just the right amount of well-balanced patina inside and out. It's difficult to describe just what a time machine this car is...As a genuine survivor, this classic Galaxie fastback may be as perfect a period example as you might ever find. Look at the pictures and see for yourself.... she's gorgeous.
The undercarriage is almost as clean as the exterior, with new exhaust, new shocks, and a Z-code 390 4v engine built to satisfy. The FE block was bored .060 over, and a 428 crankshaft installed. This brings the displacement up to around 421 cubic inches, give or take... basically just shy of a 427/428. The engine features a full balance, performance cam, lifters, timing set, oil pump, rebuilt cylinder heads, aluminum high-rise intake, new Quick Fuel 4-barrel carb, new MSD-6AL rev-limiting performance ignition, big headers, dual exhaust, new mufflers, and more. The engine has only ~3k miles on it, and yes, I have receipts... over $8k spent on the engine. The original Cruise-o-Matic transmission was replaced with a fully-rebuilt heavy-duty C6 automatic that shifts perfectly via the original center-console shifter. New battery, new fuel pump, lines, water pump, filters, hoses, belts, rebuilt radiator, stock fan AND auxiliary electric fan, auxiliary three-gauge under dash cluster to monitor the vitals. Factory gauges work as well. The car starts easily, warms up quickly, and is beyond satisfying to drive... she's hot.

While the dash and interior appear stock and unmodified, there is a hidden high-end Bluetooth stereo system that will sync to your phone or mobile device to allow you to enjoy your favorite music while still looking and feeling retro and classy.

The wheels and tires are as fresh as the engine and transmission... almost new. The brakes are redone and basically like new, steering tight, car reliable.
This IS your ideal summer cruiser. You may not ever find another this nice, short of a high dollar auction. A beautiful car, a turnkey runner and driver, and "the" year to have, not to mention that it's loaded to the gills.
While every effort has been made to describe the vehicle as accurately as possible, it is in fact a 56-year-old classic, and therefore being sold exactly as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied.

Please be ready to make payment in full within 3 days of auction's end via cash, deposit into my Bank of America account, or bank wire transfer.

Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; I own a classic car restoration shop and can recommend a reliable and affordable broker who I have used many times... ultimately the choice must be yours alone.
