Description of 1972 Ford Mustang

This '72 Q-code is a major project car or drivetrain donor. Shell is intact. but VERY rusty. Intact sheet metal include the roof. front clip (minus aprons - those are not so good). and staggered shock box. Unibody is mostly intact. except one rear framerail is rotted at the shackle. The floorpans (including the location of the seatbelt retractors) and trunk floor (plus both dropoffs. and possibly part of the left wheelhouse) will need replacement. along with the left quarter panel. I have a basic Marti report which I will include with the car. According to Mustangs: By the Numbers. this car is 1 of 382 produced in Medium Goldenrod (code 6C) with Ginger Mach 1 Sports interior (code GF). Interior is long gone. C6 trans was said to be rebuilt. but I never verified its operation. Driveshaft is original. as is the 9" Ford Trac-Loc nodular rear end. though the previous owner replaced the original gearing with 4:11's. Again. no verification of its operation. Under the hood is the original (VIN # matching) Q-code 351C in it. which - when parked - had 72. 15 original miles on it (instrument cluster has since been removed. but car has not moved since). This is a genuine 4-bolt main cap 351C engine. The block will require a cleaning. as the previous owner tried putting a fancy CompCams camshaft in it and wiped the cam and lifters. No further damage - engine is a good core ready to hot tank. Original flat-top pistons and crank. No heads. no camshaft. no timing chain. no intake. no water pump. no timing chain cover. etc. No interior. wiring harness. or other parts - this is a stripped-down shell which you can refurbish. then make into whatever you want. NOTE: Shock tower caps are shown in the photos. They were removed along with the shocks. and are not included. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of the end of the auction. If this deposit is not received within that time period. the vehicle will be re-listed. See photos. Sold AS-IS.
