Description of 1970 Ford Torino Cobra

Selling our 1970 Cobra Torino. rotisserie restoration. I owned it before I got married. Now. with kids. extracurricular activities. etc. . I have no time to finish it. This car has been in South Dakota its whole life. It was born in Lorain. OH. on January 5th. 1970. and was sold to Kredit Ford. in Platte. SD. on January 16th. 1970. According to locals in the Mitchell. SD. area. this car was well-known on the 1/4-mile drag strip near Sioux Falls. SD. They said it was a race-only car. The odometer reads 5. 33 miles. I have no idea if they are original miles. but they could be. I brought her home back in 2006. It was disassembled. and many parts were media blasted. and finished with POR-15 epoxy (black) if they are not seen. such as window regulators. etc. . and then they were boxed up. The body was media blasted as well. revealing any weak spots in the sheetmetal from rust. Any rust damage was repaired with either new. original gauge steel. or donor sheetmetal from another Torino. After that. it was shot with epoxy primer. and the Calypso Coral painted on the bottom of the car. and up the firewall. The rest of the car is still in black primer. It will never rust again!I bought a second set of doors for it. due to the fact that somebody had welded thick steel washers all around the door latches. I'm guessing because it had cracks around the latches - very common on the Torinos. with their long. heavy. doors. The new doors need to be stripped and prepped for paint. Or you could use the new doors to fix the old doors. Original Cobra door panels are in great condition. Interior is all black. The hood is a replacement. as the original hood was damaged. and was not included with the car. The new hood needs to be cut for the Twist-Lok hood pins. and the Shaker hood scoop. It didn't originally come with a shaker. but somebody added it later. Have new NOS Twist-Lok hood pins. It had Keystone Klassic mag wheels on it when I got it. and I added a set of NASCAR wheels and tires from the #40 Kevin Carver racing team. In 2006. Carver was one of the declared Rookie-of-the-year in the Busch Series. and rear tires are marked in chalk. "15 Laps". In 2010. was Sprint Series Rookie-of-the-year. I don't know if the wheels and tires are from the Busch Series or Craftsman Truck Series. The engine was run and it was driven last in 2009. before the car was disassembled. The engine / transmission has not been touched. It will need to be at least repainted to match the restoration. Any parts missing? The grille is not correct for the car. The front windshield was broken. but is still widely available. It will need carpet and a new headliner fabric. Please ask questions!!!!!!!! You are buying as-is. and will receive all of the parts that I have for the car. many in boxes. and/or loose. If you need to have the car shipped by Uship. or a similar company. let me know. and all of the parts will be numbered. boxed. and loaded into the car. Chrome and trim will be bubble-wrapped or saran-wrapped. The engine / transmission will have to be shipped separately.
